$10,000 ???? ???????? ?????????? ???????? ???? ?? ????????????????????

$10,000 ???? ???????? ?????????? ???????? ???? ?? ????????????????????

You'd like that, won't you? Of course!

I'll always tell my colleagues and students alike, freelance writing (freelancing generally) is not a get-rich-quick scheme.

To excel in freelance writing, there's much work to be done. You don't expect to start earning $1,000 per gig immediately.

Nah! Not gonna happen!

You have to start somewhere. You have to do some basic (yet ignored) things to get there.

I started writing earning roughly $5 per 1000 words. No kidding!

Right now I charge as low as $50-100 (depending on my mood).

My hourly rates were $3/hr sometime around 2016.

Yep! THREE DOLLARS!

Now, it's $35/hr (I still love working with tight-budget clients).

Of course, this is not to say, you can't immediately start earning at these rates.

But, will you pay a new writer on Fiverr/PPH $80 for a 1000-word content without proof of professionalism?

Of course, not! You'd rather pay a proven pro, a hundred bucks for it!

So, how do you get-rich-quick as a freelance writer?

A Kick-ass Profile

If you take a look at most content writers' profiles at Upwork, you'd want to throw up!

It lacks professionalism, a basic understanding of the client's needs and appeal. If you must earn as you want as a writer, your profile must be irresistible.

You should have what I call the, "pay this fellow right now" profile.

A client should stop searching for a writer as soon as they reach your profile page.

Avoid Useless Proposals

Sending 30 proposals a day doesn't mean you're going to get hired if all of them are useless.

Proposals are the first real connection your clients get from you. If there's nothing to connect or relate to, they won't contact you!

Instead of spending 30 minutes sending 20 proposals. Spend 20 minutes crafting each proposal, sending just 5 daily.

Do this and thank me later!

Stop Whinging!

No one makes $10K in their first week of freelancing.

I'm pretty sure you won't either! Don't whing when things don't go your way. Don't whine when no one visits your page or sends you a message.

Freelance writing is not a race, It's a journey.

You're going to learn a lot along the way, you're going to meet horrible clients, you're going to fail miserably daily, you're going to give up!

You're going to GIVE UP!

Seriously you will! But persist!

There are lots of successful writers out there and they started like you.

Implement the first two steps properly and you'd be well on your way to earning your first $10,000 before you know it!

I remain your favorite freelance writing coach, until next week, work don't whing!
