As we close out this Veterans Day 2021. As we relax with our love ones and as we remember our love ones we've lost; I would like to take this moment to share a poem from my heart as a soldier, as a veteran...too you.

THE 1000-YARD STARE BY STARFURY

Can you see my 1000-yard stare?

Can you see what I see when I’m out there?

Do you feel my heart from across the air?

Can you see my 1000-yard stare?

When you see me, what do you see?

My stripes, my life, my journey?

My steps, my work, my joy, my despair?

Can you see my 1000-yard stare?

When I travel the world, do you care?

When my battles come when I hide my fear?

When I tell my wife, my children I have to go do you care?

Can you see my 1000-yard stare?

You may never understand and it’s okay.

Just be happy with life and live every day.

All I ask is that you pray for us out there,

As we soldiers keep watching and protecting your freedom

As we continue our 1000-yard stare.
