$1000 Award: Will you be HUG's Artist of the Year?

Hello dear readers!

As the saying goes, the journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step. Whether you’re honing your art or chasing a dream, time flies when you show up every day. I've watched so many of you do just that, and it's inspiring. That's why I'm thrilled to announce the first-ever 'Artist of the Year ' award at HUG!

I will personally be reviewing every single submission, but I won't be alone. I am happy to share I will be joined by two innovative leaders I admire and respect deeply— the pioneering generative artist Jimena Buena Vida alongside the prolific digital art curator, Micol Ap of Fellowship Trust.?

One standout artist from our global community will receive the title and win a $1,000 prize. The real question I have is... will you be HUG's first Artist of the Year?

Win A Solo Show in NYC!

The opportunity to host a solo show has been one of the most highly requested Open Calls we've had at HUG from day 1. That's why I'm so happy to share that I am teaming up with fellow founder and art curator, Gulsum Keskinoglu , to make it happen.?

Gulsum has generously offered to host a solo show for an artist at her Williamsburg gallery, Awita New York Studio! The solo show would run from January 16th to the 22nd. The winning artist will also receive any free printing and framing services they may need to showcase their work.

It feels a little early to be talking about the end of the year, but I can't help it with all of these different holiday-themed opportunities ahead of us for the rest of 2024. Looking back, it's been wonderful to see how much our community of not just artists, but curators and community leaders, have really thrived! While I always hoped that our Open Calls would empower a new generation of emerging digital art innovators, you've all gone above and beyond anything I could have dreamt up.

Words alone can't convey how proud I am of all of you!
