Google just announced it is enhancing Gemini, its AI assistant, introducing a new feature called "Deep Research." This tool will assist users in gathering information from multiple sources, analyzing the data, and compiling comprehensive reports.

Just today, Google announced the rollout of?new features for AI Overviews, now including a right-hand link display on desktop and site icons on mobile, making it easier to access relevant websites directly from search results. The company is "also currently testing the addition of links to relevant web pages directly within the text of AI Overviews." SEO experts, rejoice!

Short-form video = more leads.

According to a recent HubSpot report, short-form video was "reported as having the highest ROI of any social media marketing strategy in 2024, with over 84% of marketers saying that video has helped them increase traffic to their website." Oreo and Coca-Cola have partnered to create a limited-time snack and drink, taking advantage of a prime marketing opportunity. The joining of two globally recognized brands allows for creative cross-promotion across different marketing channels. Both brands can leverage their extensive social media followings, retail partnerships, and advertising platforms to amplify the product launch, increasing reach and visibility.

Things are looking betta for Meta.

See what we did there? In any case, Facebook has introduced updates to its campaign optimization tools, offering advertisers enhanced capabilities to maximize the effectiveness of their campaigns. The updates include:

  • New definitions of conversions for optimization
  • New attribution models
  • More powerful analytics integrations
  • Improvements to take more of the cross-publisher journey into account

Love the format and content here. If perplexity.ai isn't perceived as a threat to Google, I'd say it's at least a guiding inspiration for some of these new roll-outs. And of course, if anyone is reading this that hasn't already used Perplexity, the easiest recommendation (and I'll even say gift) I can offer today is to drop what you're doing, go check it out, and thank me later ??
