The 100 Stat in Stagnation

According to the Financial Times , about half of business owners had an exit strategy when they started their business. In that same survey, just over 10% said they didn't need an exit strategy...while 3% didn't remember what it was.
In a way, that makes sense since only about half of business owners start their business with a written business plan.
But I can tell you this: virtually no one asks you what your exit strategy is when you start your business.
So here's the real 100 stat: 100% of business owners exit their organizations.
Further, if BizBuySell (per Teamshares ) is right, just over half of business owners cite retirement as the reason for an exit.
Why wait?
What if your current no-growth plateau -- your current period of stagnation -- is the exact reason you should exit? Should you wait to close your business when your life "closes?" Should you "force" growth for the next 2+ to 5 years to ramp up ____ (name it: sales, operations, personnel, etc.) so you have peak company value?
These can be complicated business questions...but they might be simple personal questions.
Don't waste your current frustrations of no growth by not considering your exit strategy.
