100 free ‘wills’ for BOSETU members
In their efforts towards Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), Mphusu Attorneys have gifted Botswana Sector of Educators Trade Union (BOSETU) with 100 free wills to their members
What is a will?
?A Will is a legally prepared and bound document that states your intentions for the distribution of your assets and wealth after your death.?
Speaking at 100 Legal Guard Cover Handing over Ceremony held in Gaborone on Thursday, Mphusu Attorneys Lead Counsel, Kutlo Mphusu gave a brief an overview of the gathering.
“Mphusu Attorneys is a young law firm and we consider ourselves to be progressive, growing to become a force within Botswana.
Furthermore, we bring to you ‘Legacy Guard’ which is our newest CSR initiative that we want to use to bring value to the lives of Batswana. Legacy Guard will offer Batswana 250 free wills who over the age of 60.
For BOSETU members specifically, we will be offering 100 free wills for members who over 60 years,” she said.
Mphusu further revealed the reasons why they partnered with BOSETU, “We partnered with BOSETU because we felt that we have shared value, from the action that we seen from the leadership, trade union as they have invested in improving the lives of Batswana.
In addition, this is aligned to what we want to do with regards to CSR, and this initiative is the start of many that are in the pipeline,” revealed Mphusu.

Mphusu Attorney Lead Counsel disclosed how one can qualify for this initiative.
“In order to qualify; you have to be a member of BOSETU, over 60 years, provide us with your full names, Identity Number (ID), your contact and where are you based.
If you are not in Gaborone, reach out to us and we definitely avail the services to you,” disclosed Mphusu Attorney Lead Counsel.
For his part, BOSETU President, Winston Radikolo said they are happy that Mphusu Attorneys have identified them as a progressive union which cares for the livelihood of its people hence to be gifting the with 100 free wills.
“We are excited to receive this gift from Mphusu Attorneys and they will go a long way.
We are one of the people that get low-income salaries – a will is something that is new to our culture as it is associated with a death curse if you are to formulate it but when an opportunity like this came, we could not let it pass as it will help our members,” he said.
On the other hand, BOSETU Secretary General, Tobokani Rari added that Mphusu Attorneys came to the right place.
“I believe Mphusu Attorneys located us for a reason, they were looking for like-minded institution, and this law is young, dynamic and very progressive and they would like to contribute towards CSR,” added Rari.
