100 Days - How am I doing so far?

As I reached the milestone of 100 days at Mozilla, I challenged myself to pause and reflect on my journey so far. To do this, I took time to consider four questions.
1. Have I built strong relationships?
The importance of building strong relationships in the workplace cannot be overstated. It promotes effective communication collaboration and creates a support network to guide me through any challenges. I've asked myself whether I've actively sought to connect with my colleagues, leaders, and team members. I reviewed if I have done enough to engage in team-building activities and one-on-one meetings, and I have focused on, as a remote worker, how I build these relationships, which are largely virtual.?
2. Am I aligned with Mozilla’s values and culture?
I strongly believe that understanding and embracing the values and culture of Mozilla has been important to my long-term success within the company. I've taken time to reflect on whether I've truly immersed myself in the organization's ethos and whether these values resonate with my personal beliefs. I also realized that I do not have to be 100% aligned - and it is even good to be willing to challenge norms and actively participate in building culture in a way that is ‘good for me.’?

3. Have I made a positive impact?
I have tried to, without bias, understand the contributions I've made within the organization over the past 100 days. I've asked myself whether I've met my objectives and whether I've identified areas for improvement and proposed viable solutions. I've identified my strengths and areas that require further development. This introspection has not only demonstrated where I can bring value - but also where I need to do more to contribute and be diligent to ensure I remain relevant to the success of our business.
4. What have I learned?
Lastly, learning and growth are integral components of any successful career. I've considered the new skills, knowledge, and insights I've gained since joining. I've identified areas where I need further development and have the plan to improve my skills and broaden my experiences. Embracing personal growth is not easy for me - I enjoy and get satisfaction from ensuring others have these opportunities, but I know it is central to both my success and my overall happiness to pursue personal goals as well within my new role.
By reflecting on these four key questions, I’ve been able to identify more clearly how I fit in Mozilla and confirm that I made a good choice in taking on a new role.

1 年Well, if you ever wanted my opinion I would say you’re doing a great job and it’s been a pleasure (and insightful- in a good way) to work with you.
Just finished a talk about successful global govt affairs work and your top two from your 100 days were my top two takeaways: People are the most important thing. And understanding culture is essential to forging meaningful connection. Good luck on your next 100!
