100 Days

When I previously wrote about ‘100 days’, it was to share the accomplishments of the newly hired leader of the organization where I am employed.

Today I write about a different 100 days.

It has been 100 days since several hundred men, women, children, and babies were taken hostage.? It has been 100 days since hundreds more were brutally murdered, burned alive, savagely butchered, raped, and decapitated. It has been 100 days since my warm, safe, and diverse community turned into a divisive town where outsiders come to spew, and flame hate and our superintendent of schools violated the Jewish students’ civil rights.? It has been 100 days since numerous top US colleges and universities failed to protect their Jewish students and brought shame on higher education throughout the country. Where the consequences of their failures and breaches of integrity are excused by playing the race card, with no ownership of their actions and behavior.? It has been 100 days since the countries that Israel lead rescue and lifesaving missions to in their times of need abandoned them (Turkey, Mexico, Haiti, Albania, Philippines). It has been 100 days since international women’s organizations turned the other way when it was Jewish women who were brutalized.? It has been 100 days since some members of Congress shamefully denied the documented atrocities yet remain in office.? It has been 100 days since you cannot travel in NYC without public roadways being illegally blocked by genocide screaming individuals. It has been 100 days since ignorant and unfeeling people have shamelessly and with great pride torn down posters of innocent hostages, many of them children, shredding and discarding them like trash. It has been 100 days since regular citizens can expect to commute to and from work, celebrate holidays, and share good times with friends and family without concern for their safety. It has been 100 days since the International Red Cross showed its true colors by making no effort to check on the wellbeing of these hostages and demanding they get necessary medical attention and be returned to their loved ones. ? It has been way more than 100 days since UNWRA has been complicit by housing HAMAS weapons cache. It has been 100 days since the worst attack on Jewish people since the holocaust. It has been 100 days since the world left it to Israel to root out the greatest evil and threat to the western civilization and democracy. It has been 100 days since anti-Semitic attacks worldwide increased exponentially. It has been 100 days since I can sleep well at night. It has been 100 days since I have hope for the world my grandchildren are living in.
