100 Days to go until the team Summit Mont Blanc

We are getting closer! There is only 100 days to go until, the team Summit Mont Blanc. We are making substantial progress, and have been really excited by the response from our friends and colleagues who have been interested to find out more about how you can support us and cheer Team Summit Mont Blanc 2020 on our way.

Website launch: Our expedition website is now launched and live. Please take a look, there is plenty of information to describe our challenge, meet the team, and descriptions of how you can support our charity beneficiaries.

We are pleased to announce a key sponsor to the expedition: RG Group are one of the UK's leading Construction, Fit Out and Refurbishment Companies, they are specialists in the Living Space, Retail and Commercial sectors. 

RG Group Site Manager, Paul Brunt has placed a Buy-A-Brick fundraising board prominently on the site of new Marriott Hotel, on the approach road to London City Airport. Trade teams on site have donated funds to have their company logo placed on the board.  Read more about RG Group and a recent team-building exercise we held jointly with the Household Cavalry Regiment at Hyde Park Barracks in London.

We have also received raffle prizes from the Castle Hotel Windsor, and we will soon raffle these and other prizes off to help raise funds for our charity good causes.

Fundraising and donation request: The team, would really like your help it raise awareness of our plans, and to consider making a donation to our fundraising page. Our aim is to raise approx. ￡50,000 - ￡75,000 to split between 5 good causes, and generate a scholarship for a school-leaver, who has been through social/foster care to attend the University of St Andrews as an undergraduate student. Any donations from ￡20+ is greatly appreciated an we have already raised over ￡10,000 (including gift aid and offline donations). 

As a reminder, we have chosen to raise a significant sum for the following:

• St Joseph's Hospice
• Household Cavalry Foundation
• University of St Andrews
• Legacy funding for young and gender diverse climbers, adventurers and explorers.

Training and preparation: This is a real and demanding expedition challenge, and comes with some risks regarding the weather, the mountain, and our individual adaptation to altitude. We are currently training in three key ways, and remain available to provide motivational talks to your teams and organisations:

1. Physical training
2. Mental Preparation
3. Developing winter-mountaineering skills

The team is conducting mountaineering training in the Highlands of Scotland, and in Wales, as part of our preparations. We recently climbed up Gully No.4 on Ben Nevis, and other peaks, in the wind, rain and snow, wearing our crampons, helmets, and carrying an ice axe - all tied together on a safety rope.

We will be holding training hikes March to June, and if you would like to join us on some Training Walks at Box Hill, on the South Downs, Richmond Park, or Wimbledon Common please let us know.
