Career anniversaries are usually opportunity to pause, reflect or even consider change. The occasion of my 10th anniversary in MOL Group which I’m celebrating today (working from home due challenging times we are all in) would not be much different if it weren`t for this somewhat exciting anticipation I have been feeling lately when thinking of this round number. That is the usual question at job interviews, isn’t it? Where do you see yourself in ten years? Did I see myself here? Not sure. It would not be correct to say I planned my career in MOL exactly like this, or that I planned my career very carefully at all. It is always a mix of skills, and what some call destiny. For me, the vision had been clear when I decided to turn my back to a career in finance and dive into the exciting area of human resources even before MOL, as I fell in love with the idea of adding value by managing the most valuable of all assets - people. When I had to choose whether to stay in the comfort of splashing consumer brand or accept the challenge to join energy sector and oil & gas company of which I knew nothing, I chose the challenge and never regretted it. This was a journey of numerous opportunities to learn, as MOL is the company that brings many unexpected turns to an HR professional willing to grow and a real challenger corporate brand with strong entrepreneurial spirit that simulates creativity. Our specific core business does not prevent us from stepping into the unknown and different, no limits there. It is the authenticity of MOL that walks the talk which inspires me as I watch our employees and many satisfied stakeholders becoming its advocates. Above all I’m honored to work with all my colleagues, and fantastic HR team every day, every challenge makes us stronger, and it will be so with current Corona virus one. Ten years in MOL thus brings to me the anticipation of new exciting challenges and opportunities to learn and grow in the period to come.
