10 years with REA... oh wait it's now 11

I wrote this last year and shared it internally with my work crew, hope you enjoy reading my reflections. Wow, what a great feeling to be celebrating 10 years of employment with realestate.com.au, the days just fly by, as do the years!?

I am so proud to be a part of such a progressive and dynamic company that continually challenge status quo to refine and grow our organisation.?To witness how the property journey is reimagined for consumers and customers is exciting. When I started in 2011 the property market was down, customers faced challenges of property owners losing tens of thousands on their sale prices, emotions running high, offices closing left right and centre, and I thought "what am I doing here ", "is my job secure " and "how can I help and support my customers? " The share price had just climbed to $11, we only just started to develop our app and we used excel documents for contracts. Fast forward to today, I have been able to help 100's of customers, there is confidence in the market with record property prices, an extremely healthy share price, 123,423,144 web and app visits (June 2021) and so many system improvements. As CEO's Tracey Fellows and Owen Wilson have achieved so much and from the top down, I have all the confidence in our management team, Dee, Ben, Andrew, Teena and Susan in their support and genuine guidance.??

My colleagues are fun, smart, hardworking and passionate people, the energy everyone brings is testament to the longevity and retention of our people. Thank you for all your support and guidance over the last decade, we are so lucky to have an uncompromising world class supportive culture.? Something about REA obviously attracts great people.

Personally and professionally I have grown, refining existing skills and developing new ones along the way. I would like to thank my managers and colleagues who I have lent on throughout the years. Your guidance, belief, kindness, and understanding has enabled me to feel part of this wonderful work family.?

To all my customers a massive thank you for your business and support over the years. I love our industry and supporting and helping you navigate the property advertising journey. I have learnt so much about business and work /life balance with all the events and awards nights!?

• Be kind and respectful no matter what the situation is?
• See the positive and optimistic side of things
• It's okay to speak up but do it respectfully?
• Look for opportunities to make processes better?
• Be okay if your idea does not stick??
• Always plan and be proactive with workload - it does pile up?
• Take mini breaks?
• Look out for others???

I've recently returned from a 4 week trip to Cape York (high recommend it) and whilst the inbox is full and the phone starts ringing and I'm feeling overwhelmed I will get through the work as I love my job, the people and my customers.
