10 Years of LoopStudio

Over a decade ago, we started LoopStudio with big dreams…

LoopStudio was born on July 7, 2014, under a different name, which we’ve since changed to one that truly captures our essence.

I still remember working with my partners in one of their parent’s apartments (far from your usual garage startup tale!), dreaming of providing services in the US. But how could we sell without traveling?

We started working through Upwork with James Taylor, our first client, who opened the doors to his project and several future ones.

Our unity was forged not just in ambition, but in the shared values that guide us and everyone who joins this thrilling journey.

In 2015, we grew, hiring our first team member and moving into an office. Our persistence paid off, and after many tries, we landed our first direct client. Our team expanded to 5 people.

By then, we were juggling decisions that would shape our future. Should we remain faithful to Ruby on Rails or explore the vast possibilities with React and mobile development? Our choice to embrace React and React Native was a leap into the unknown, powered by our passion for innovation. We joined Cuti - Cámara Uruguaya de Tecnologías de la Información , eager to weave our story into the fabric of the tech community.

As years unfolded, each brought its share of challenges, but we knew the real challenges were yet to come. Growth required us to redefine our space, goals, and strategies. Collaborating with MVD Consulting and Beyond Partners, we carved our paths, setting the stage for today's LoopStudio.

Our journey through 2018 and beyond was a parade of milestones — expanding our team, embracing leadership roles, and venturing into design and user experience. Partnerships in the US and missions abroad enriched our vision.

By 2019, our team had grown to 25. We faced challenges with planning and had to think about the impact on the whole team. We sought help to streamline our operations and began making more client trips.

In 2020, the pandemic hit. Despite uncertainties and project stalling, we formed a sales team and joined the Pasaporte Emprendedor program with Endeavor, expanding our vision globally.

In 2021, we began working with our first cybersecurity client, Alphawave, which brought new opportunities. Our network and team continued to grow. Thank you, Cody Pierce and Mark St.John , for introducing us to this new world!

By 2022, we had nearly 70 people, focusing on React and Node and exploring Java and Python.

But 2023 came, and it was tough. We lost much of our projected revenue due to layoffs in the US. Still, we focused on supporting our team, and this year, we presented a plan with the goals for the next three years. We aim to become a top service provider for the cybersecurity industry. Soon, there will be more news.

This would never have been possible without all the mentors and people who accompanied me on this journey. No school teaches you to be an entrepreneur and to face the challenges and battles that come. Ten years have passed, and it feels like they went by in the blink of an eye.

There are many challenges, but we cannot give up. All this work is thanks to the team, the leaders, the partners, and the support of family and friends. We have built a great company together and will continue this way.

Reflecting on my journey from who I was to who I am today, I am certain that my growth as a CEO is thanks to my incredible team. We've built a culture at LoopStudio that shines through everyone who works here. I'm truly proud of our accomplishments and continually amazed by our journey. While it sometimes feels unbelievable, I know we've always given our best. Let's continue to be creative and strive for excellence together.
