10 years of business in Romania: boom, bust and the new normal

Whereas this year it’s been a decade of activity for Reff & Associates member of Deloitte Legal (with over 1,700 legal professionals in 74 countries around the globe), on Wednesday this week we will organise an event focused on the evolution of the Romania business environment over the last ten years.

Ten years of boom, bust and the “new normal”. Ten years ago Romania joined EU and was in a period of impressive economic growth. Three years later, the international financial crisis made its effects visible also in Romania with significant negative consequences. After a few years of painful adjustment, the business environment entered the so called “new normality”, a period with uncertainties, volatility but also with a gradual restart of investment.

Each of these periods brought essential lessons, about which we will debate on Wednesday with our most esteemed guest speakers: Lucian Croitoru - Senior Counsel to the Governor of National Bank of Romania, Anca Vlad – President Fildas - Catena Group, Sergiu Manea – CEO Banca Comercial? Roman?, Martin Slabbert - CEO Prime Kapital, Omer Tetik - CEO Banca Transilvania, Siminel Andrei - GM of NCH Capital in Romania. 

We see the event, marking the 10 years anniversary of Reff & Associates, not only as a good opportunity to reflect on the most important moments which have put their mark on the Romanian business environment during the last decade, but also to try to anticipate some of the business trends for the period to come.
