10 Years Of Being A Consistent Disruptor

10 Years Of Being A Consistent Disruptor

What does it mean to be a consistent disruptor? In simple terms, it means being able to challenge the status quo, push your boundaries to achieve stellar results and thinking outside the box to find new ways of doing things. It also means having the courage to take risks and being able to pivot quickly when necessary.

In these 10 years as a working professional I have always taken calibrated risks in life, as?without stepping into the unknown?you will never know what lies on the other end of the spectrum. But, there is a difference between being a gambler and a risk taker. While the fear of losing is what both share, the risk taker is more aware and in a much better head space to deal with failure than a gambler.

The journey of being a consistent disruptor requires a continuous learning mindset and a willingness to adapt to change. The thirst for knowledge and?the pursuit of happiness?have always enabled me to keep growing from strength to strength. I am a firm believer that knowledge gives the confidence to think outside the box and go beyond your limitations. Acquiring new skills always uplifts you, and when you are on the journey going from awareness to knowledge, it ignites the fire in you to dream big!

It's not about the years of experience, but the experiences in those years that define you!

Here are five fundamentals that I have stuck with in my decade long professional career

  1. Be Present, Be Genuine, Be Objective
  2. No Room For Ego, No Time For Small Talk
  3. Learning & Growth are the Catalyst, Rewards & Recognition are the Byproducts
  4. Fix The Shi!t, And Not Sit in the Sh!t
  5. Selfish for Opportunities, Selfless for Outcomes

Being a consistent disruptor in my professional career has been immensely rewarding. It has led to career growth, increased visibility within the organization, and provided the satisfaction of making a significant impact on the business.

While the saying holds true that everyone is replaceable, but I have always strived to being indispensable. There’s a big difference between being indispensable and irreplaceable. One is important and can propel your career forward. The other can stagnate you. Being indispensable is about delivering massive impact no matter where you are. It’s much more of a characteristic - a mindset wrapped with skills and attributes - rather than the details and functions in a role.

Indispensable people are the types that you can hand any project, put in nearly any role, issue a challenge to, and they simply make things happen by understanding what needs to get done and adapting their skills accordingly.

As I step into my eleventh year as a working professional, I will continue to bring chaos to order and deliver significant impact to the businesses I associate with. Here's to the next decade of being a consistent disruptor!

Sid this great write up. Without change or dealing uncomfortable situations we grow stagnant. Love your thirst for learning and willingness to take on new opportunities!

Nicely put Sid. I echo your thoughts and these are the exact attributes everyone should strive for should they want to be successful in life, not just their professional career. Loved the indespensable vs irreplaceable concept, very aptly put. Would keep an eye on your future posts. Cheers!
