The Everest Shiraz 2018 – 93 Pts
Produced from the best parcels of grapes from across the estates' vineyards and growers, aged in French oak for 18 months and 24 months in bottle. Big-boned and weighty Barossa shiraz of considerable heft. Deep blackberry, black cherry and dark plum fruits, baking spice, liquorice, bitter dark chocolate, percussive cedar oak and turned earth. Everything is turned up loud, the fruit is super-concentrated, the oak all-seeing and omnipresent, the tannins assertive and the finish brooding, alcoholic and dark. One for the lovers of big wines.
