10 Ways to Manage Stress During the Workday

Life is filled with demands. That will never end. Stress is normal. It isn't always bad. We can't avoid it. However, there are simple practices we can do during the workday to let off a little bit of that steam.

Pick any three of the following techniques and do them today.

  1. Recognize the stressful thoughts we are having.
  2. If the thoughts aren't serving us, press pause on them and breathe them out.
  3. Take a 10-minute walk without looking at any devices.
  4. Eat a healthy snack (fruit, carrots, celery, etc) and avoid too many sugars
  5. Taking a 10-minute nap in the middle of the day.
  6. Have a non-work related conversation with a colleague, even if you work virtually.
  7. Avoid overdosing on caffeine especially later in the day.
  8. Listen to some soothing music.
  9. Meditate by taking 10 deep breaths to relax your nervous system.
  10. Express gratitude for three positive things happening in your life right now.

Feel free to select different ones each day until they become a habit. Have a beautiful day!
