10 Ways to Just Do Something
I think one of the things that helps us all get through this pandemic is to be able to communicate with others. It all started with gradual news about China. We watched and watched and all of a sudden it was going to affect us…. every single person in the Lehigh Valley and Pennsylvania is affected in some way. In my lifetime I have never, ever experienced such a life-altering situation. I’ve been thinking about this all week and shared with some of my clients the evolution of this pandemic on individuals. I call it “Information is Power.”
INFORMATION IS POWER.....
First, we were in shock, we could actually get this virus and die from it.
Second, we were scared, what about our loved ones and our friends.
Third, we needed to learn more and that meant talking to others, listening and reading the news.
And fourth, we then, hopefully, learned acceptance. Once we made it to acceptance, we were able to process how we would prevent ourselves and others from contracting this disease.
Once we accept this new way of life we need to do something. We can’t live in fear day after day, although I will say this is a unique situation because many times things change daily
Fear is an unpleasant emotion caused by the belief that something is dangerous, likely causing pain. That says it all. In order or overcome fear we started with washing our hands like crazy, wiping everything down with sanitizer to chasing toilet paper and sanitizer all over the valley, now we wear masks and sometimes gloves to protect ourselves.
Let’s do something. Here are 10 ways to cope.
- Definitely make plans, schedule things to do during the day.
- Call a friend you haven’t seen in years.
- Support a local restaurant who is doing curbside.
- Make a meal for someone living alone, deliver with care and wear a mask.
- Buy meals for first responders, nurses, docs, police, people on the front lines, etc.
- Be a helper in the community.
- Take a walk - social distance.
- Face time your family and friends.
- Make a list of what you will do when this is over.
- 10. Listen to concerts, church services, and singers online.
This is life changing so it more than likely will change your life forever. Just do something!
