It's the holiday season and that time of the year when many business owners wonder?whether it's a waste of time and effort to look for clients.
My answer is that it's entirely up to you.?
If you want to use the month of December to wind down and get a bit of housekeeping done, go ahead. It's an awesome time of the year to update your website, take a break to relax with family and friends, or zero out your inbox.
BUT don't think things are stopping just because it's the holiday season.
People are still spending money, businesses are still operating, and decisions are still being made. PLUS, many businesses are spending the last of their budget money, but the work won't start until next year. So, if you want to keep marketing and looking for clients, it's an awesome time to make things happen.?
AND do consider what's it's going to do to your visibility and all the work you'll need to put back in to get it back up IF you take it off completely.
Which choice are you making?
Neither way is wrong and perfectly acceptable, which is why my answer is 'it's entirely up to you.' But I am always more than a bit surprised at how many people think everything shuts down for the holidays, and no one is buying during one of the BIGGEST buying seasons of the year.?
One of the main reasons I keep showing up is because there's so much LESS competition in the space because of all the people who slow down and stop showing up for the month of December. I like to take a more lighthearted, feel-good approach to things during this time, sharing more stories, photos, and easy-going stuff.
Also, I truly HATE having gaps in my pipeline! PLUS losing the effects of all the work I put in building up my visibility.
Scaling back to your minimum marketing plans helps to keep this from happening, and you still get to slow down. If you don't have at least three levels to your marketing plan, I HIGHLY recommend it.
So, if you're thinking of continuing to go for it and sign clients over the holidays, here are 10 ways to help you get them.

10 Ways to Get More Clients Over the Holidays
1. Stay consistent in your marketing - slow down a bit if you want to but just it at a slower pace.?
2. Take a bit slower approach by acknowledging the season, share your stories attached to a product or service that fits better this time of year.?
3. Remind them that the New Year is coming, and getting started now is a great way to start strong then.?
4. Check-in past clients to see how they are doing and if you can help them out now.?
5. Email your email list with some holiday specials (you don't need to discount your offers, apply a special holiday bonus or reward for signing with you now).?
6. Plan to raise your prices and let people know December is the last time to get this year's rates before you go up in the new year.?
7. If you plan to take time off, hire a VA or social media manager for December to keep your marketing going consistently.?
8. Share more of your client's stories and wins - seeing results tells peeps you KNOW what you're doing and get results for your clients.?
9. Ask for the sale - one of the biggest things I see missing from most marketing is that you're not asking for the sale enough. Stop being shy about it and go for it.?
10. Engage with MORE people - the more you're seen , the better chances of finding and connecting with clients.?
Don't forget - posting + engagement = conversation.?
Keep those conversations going!
So, what does your holiday month plan look like? Are you going for it with the marketing or scaling back to reset and get ready for the new year while enjoying more time with friends and family? Let me know in the comments.

3 年Love these ideas! I find that the work/life balance changes in December, so marketing often gets shoved off the list first out of necessity. This year I'm going to try and be intentional about marketing every week while acknowledging that it just can't be as intense as it is at other times of the year. This article gives me some great ideas for that, thanks!
