10 Tools To Increase Work Productivity

Working with various development teams over the last few years has taught me that being busy is not the same as being effective. You may be busy doing something at times, but that does not always imply that you are productive. Alternatively, you may be less productive because you spend too much time on repetitive tasks that could be automated.

Being productive boils down to doing things well. It means that a developer should complete tasks quickly and efficiently, such as writing code, running tests, or thinking about a program's logic. Or, at the very least, completing these tasks as soon as possible.

Several tools that improve productivity are available in the digital world. The future of work will see processes completely automated and productivity boosted by digital tools.

Here are ten (10) productivity tools to boost work productivity in 2022:

Scheduling Tools

Following a schedule allows you to accomplish more in less time. Scheduling allows you to prioritize tasks, achieve goals, and finish projects on time. They increase productivity through forethought and reminders.

These tools allow you to schedule appointments, bookings, meetings, messages, and tasks. It can also sync with digital calendars and use AI algorithms to learn your schedule and take over event organization, booking, and updating. Calendly, Calendar, ScheduleOnce, Appointfix, Arranger, and Doodle are among these tools.

Project Management Tools

Project management is required to achieve project goals within scope, time, and budget constraints. Tools like Process Bliss and Clickup aid in the management of processes and workflow. Project Libre, Rational Plan, and GanttPRO all perform additional tasks such as resource planning, cost/budget management, and progress monitoring. Other project management tools, such as ProofHub, Infinity, and Wrike, also boost work productivity.

Storage Management Tools

Cloud storage is a low-cost, time-saving method of storing and backing up a system. It does, however, have additional features such as website hosting, email hosting, mobile workspaces, and simple file sharing. iCloud, Google Drive, and Microsoft OneDrive are examples of cloud storage tools that can help boost personal and workplace productivity. They make file access and protection simple. Tettra and other knowledge management tools make it simple to find and update information.

Collaboration Tools

Teamwork boosts productivity because different individuals pool their resources to achieve a common goal. Slack, Google Docs, Bit.ai, and Trello are the most popular collaboration tools. They enable multiple people to collaborate on a project. Collaboration tools are essential in team projects for communication, contribution, and monitoring. Because multiple individuals can handle different tasks in a workspace, they help declutter your workload by supporting delegation.

Organization Tools

Productivity requires organization. To-do lists, spreadsheets, diaries, planners, and sticky notes have traditionally been used to help organize activities. Digital organizational tools are capable of much more.

Digital diaries like Penzu, content planners like Hootsuite, and digital spreadsheets such as Airtable make it much easier to add, manage, collaborate, organize, and access data and information. Evernote, Microsoft OneNote, and Dropbox Paper aid in the creation of notes, whereas Sanebox and Unroll.me aid in the organization and decluttering of emails.

Communication Tools

Email checking reduces productivity and raises stress levels. According to one study, it takes an average of 60 seconds to return to work after checking emails. However, maintaining work communications is equally important, especially if you're working with a team or on a group project.

Shift, Fleep, and Litmus are communication tools that aid in the management of multiple accounts, emails, web apps, and tools. Email Finder and Right Inbox make email communication easier and faster as well. Zoom, Skype, and Gotomeeting are excellent video conferencing and team meeting tools.

Time Tracking Tools

Time management results in high productivity because goals or targets are met within the time frame allotted. Even with a schedule or to-do list, it is possible to lose track of time and devote more hours to a task than intended.

Time tracking tools keep track of how much time you spend on a project and ensure that you stay on track at all times. Remote teams should use these productivity tools. Toogl, Harvest, Everhour, Hubstaff, and Time Doctor are a few examples.

Automation Tools

Tools that automate workflows and manual processes boost productivity significantly. Web-based services such as Zapier and Integromat allow you to automate your workflow on your own.

Hubspot Sales is another productivity tool that automates marketing, lead management, and landing page creation while assisting in the rapid increase of sales. It is ideal for companies looking to increase sales and performance.

Health Management Tools

Health is wealth because an individual's productivity is heavily reliant on their physical and mental health. Some tools can help you monitor and maintain your body's overall health. MyFitnessPal, Yoga studio, Talkspace, TMetric, Streak, Loseit, and Doropomo can help you increase work productivity by tracking and maintaining your mental health, healthy habits, and weight.

If you're having trouble being intentional about your fitness and wellness, you might want to join a gym. That was something I had to do as well because I needed to be committed and accountable.

Conclusion

Your productivity has a direct impact on the quality and quantity of your results. High productivity puts you in charge of your life because it gradually pulls you out of the cycle of chasing deadlines. It gives you a sense of accomplishment after each task is completed and keeps you from becoming burned out. Choose at least one application from each category, and watch your productivity skyrocket.
