10 Tools to build a One-Person Scalable Business
David Beckett
Pitch Coach | Creator of The Pitch Canvas? | Author of Pitch To Win | TEDx Speech Coach
I presented at the 'Dag van de ZZP'er' (Day of the Freelancer) recently, and for once told nothing about Pitching. Instead, I shared a completely new story of my own journey from searching for my passion, to creating an audience bigger than my time.
Along the way, I called out 10 tools that can help others to scale up - reaching a wider audience, and using time more efficiently. Here are those 10 tools - and note, a video course explaining how to use them will be published soon (on teachable.com, of course. See tip 4).
PS - you can download The Pitch Canvas? for free, and you can buy David's Book, Three Minute Presentation for just €1,99, at Best3Minutes.com

1. Create a great value download, and use it both to share your knowledge, and to build your mailing list.
Mailchimp.com is a great tool to manage the list and create email campaigns.
2. Creating an App used to be a frightening task - good barber.com makes it as easy as creating a WordPress site.
They manage the whole process of creation and publishing.
3. Post blogs on LinkedIn.
Offer your very best tips and position yourself as a though leader, and content creator.
4. Create a video course on Teachable.com, and create your own branded academy.
Teachable enables you to share your knowledge, get paid for it, and keep control of pricing and brand.
5. Set up a Webinar and share your knowledge with a wider audience, live.
GoToWebinar.com is not the cheapest, but it is the easiest for the user, and for you.

6. Forget traditional publishing - try Bookboon.com and get paid a fair price for your written work.
Bookboon has proven to be really good for me as an author, with regular passive income.
7. Sell digital and physical products using Gumroad.com, and the customer is yours.
Selling via Amazon of iBooks means they keep the customers email address. Gumroad gives you direct access to people who buy your stuff.
8. Coach online and save setup and meeting room costs.
With Startup 24Sessions.com, you get scheduling tools, a rating system, and payment management. Easy!
9. Automate appointments using TimeTrade.com, and save you and your customers time.
Timetrade is a bit clunky, but is low cost, and integrates with your Mac or Google calendar.
10. Track - and charge - every minute you work.
The TimeEdition app makes it incredibly easy to keep a record of the work you do for clients and on projects.
