10 Tips to Give You the Copywriting Superpower

Apple is one of the most recognizable brands in the world. Valued at over $2 trillion and known for their breathtaking designs, they have another unmatched superpower: Great copywriting.

Here are 10 tips to give you the same copywriting superpower:

  1. Make the headline a showstopper: It's the first thing visitors see, and gets the most attention. Make your headline: Short, Punchy, Unforgettable
  2. Don't sell features, sell superpowers: Great copywriting isn't about what your product can do. It's about what your product can help the reader become. Ex: Apple doesn't sell you phones - they sell you power in the palm of your hand
  3. Address the main concerns: Every customer has concerns before they buy a product. Could be price, safety, durability, or privacy. Address their concerns directly to build trust with them. Ex: Apple goes for 2 concerns at once.
  4. Make them laugh: One thing we all have in common: We love to laugh. Humor makes your product memorable. Don't be afraid to mix in a little humor when it feels good. Ex: Who doesn't like a good pun?
  5. Incentivize action: Don't just get them to read. Get them to take the next step. Use words that command action.
  6. Use numbers: Be precise. Be specific. Apple doesn't just tell you they're better, they tell you exactly how much better they are.
  7. The Rhyme: Rhyme and repetition can make copy stand out more. That's why poetry and that new song you heard on Spotify sound so catchy. Use rhyme and repetition to make your copy stick in the reader's mind.
  8. Sell outcomes: Readers care very little about your product features. They care more about the problems your product will solve for them. Instead of showing them features, show them what success looks like.
  9. De-risk the decision: People are often hesitant when making a purchase. Overcome their hesitation by using social proof. Share success stories from other happy customers like them or from big names they trust. Ex: Using Macs for Star Wars audio? I think I trust that.wparchives.com/copywriting-tips-social-media/
  10. Use strong call-to-actions (CTAs): Great copywriting starts with persuading the reader. It should end with the reader taking action. Don't end killer copy with a generic CTA. Use a CTA that leads them to the next steps you want them to take.
