10 Things We're Celebrating at 10 Years

We've spent the month of June celebrating the 10 year anniversary of Careers for Social Impact .?

As we mark this milestone, I've been doing a lot of reflecting on the impact that we've had during these 10 years, and everyone who has impacted us.

As we wrap up this birthday month, I want to express my gratitude to everyone who has helped us reach this point, especially:?

Celebrating Our Impact ??

As I often share, it’s important that we recognize and celebrate our accomplishments ! Here are 10 things we’re celebrating as we mark 10 years:

• ?? Working 1:1 with more than 300 people to help them design a career and life they love. I’m especially proud that so many clients return to work with us again as they navigate their careers; 40% of our current clients have worked with us previously.?
• ?? Creating and leading 25 group program cohorts to help purpose-driven leaders learn and grow together, including the third cohort of our new Take Ownership of Your Career program, which wrapped up this month.?
• ?? Cultivating a global alumni community 500+ strong who continue to connect and support each other after finishing our programs. We ?? our community!
• ??? Hosting over 75 events reaching 6,000 people, including virtual and in-person networking events, workshops, retreats, and more to help impact professionals grow in their careers.
• ?? Building an audience of nearly 15,000 impact leaders who follow our work; we are grateful to be a trusted voice for professionals across the social sector.
• ?? Recruiting 10 incredible team members who have provided guidance and expertise to me and our clients, and who’ve had a lasting impact on our work.
• ?? Partnering with 16 social sector organizations to help them find, develop, and retain their talented team members.
• ?? Taking a 10-week sabbatical to reconnect with what energized me when I realized I was in my own work slump , and committing to a regular practice of rest and renewal when I returned.
• ?? Navigating many big changes, including a cross-country move , a global pandemic, and a rapidly shifting economy, all while keeping the business running and serving our clients.
• ?? Welcoming 5 new children to our team members ’ families over the last 10 years! We are working parents committed to helping our clients prioritize what matters most and find the balance that’s right for them.

While I’m incredibly proud of all these achievements, at the end of the day it's about so much more than the numbers.

What brings me the most fulfillment are the individual stories of the impact we've had on others. Hearing these stories was one of the best parts of our recent 10th anniversary celebrations.

From talking with a past client who shared how transformative her work with us was, to someone who finds our emails and resources so helpful, to new folks excited to join our community – these stories remind me why our work matters.

Looking Ahead

While there is much to celebrate, I’m most proud of how we have continually evolved over these 10 years to meet our clients' needs and our own, as we all keep learning and growing.?

When I left my full-time job and started my very first consulting project 10 years ago, I had no idea that this is where it would lead me.?

And while I can’t predict exactly where I’ll be 10 years from now, I know that if I stay attuned to what’s bringing me energy and continue to push myself to try new things, I will figure it out along the way.?

As I reflect on the last 10 years, I feel privileged to work with incredible people who are leaving a lasting impact on our communities and the world. I’m grateful to do work I love, in a way that works for me and my family. And I’m more committed than ever to helping our clients design work and lives that they love too.?

I can't wait to see what we do together in the next 10 years!
