10 things not to miss at TLCC Washington, D.C.
It’s now just a couple of weeks until our next TLCC in Washington, D.C., from August 11-14, 2024. I’m excited for another inspirational and education-packed few days. Here is my list of the top 10 things to experience while at the event.
1. Innovator breakout sessions
The inspiring and provocative Innovator Series will return, but this year you have three tracks of innovators to choose from: leadership, marketing, and technology trends. Bonus: These sessions will be live-streamed for virtual attendees and available later to view as recordings.
2. Community discussions
We partnered with Tessitura’s volunteer community chairs to identify trending topics and plan the community discussions you see on the agenda. Fourteen topical discussions will be available as pre-scheduled items in the conference app!
3. New general session format
We continue to respond to attendee feedback and evolving audience expectations. At TLCC Washington, D.C., we will experiment with shorter general session presentations. We will also break the opening general session into two slots. This will increase time for comprehension and processing.
4. Live in the culture
Did you know that Tessitura has nearly 20 member organizations in the District of Columbia alone? Check out the conference app for information and special offers for local member events taking place during the week we are there.
5. 5K fun walk/run on the National Harbor trail
Getting out in the fresh air can be a great way to recharge. If you enjoy walking or running, why not sign up to participate in the Tessitura 5k fun walk/run along the beautiful National Harbor trail? This year’s route is a paved path along the Potomac River waterfront with stunning views of Old Town Alexandria, the National Harbor Marina, and the iconic Capital Wheel.
6. Range of session content
The conference session proposal process continues to deliver an exciting range of content relevant to arts and culture professionals. At TLCC Washington, D.C., this includes:

New this year: We are integrating a leadership track that is open to current and aspiring leaders for no additional cost.
7. Upskill on advanced topics
Past attendees have shared that they want more intermediate and advanced content. TLCC, Washington, D.C., offers many more sessions for experienced users to increase their skills.
8. Pre-conference hands-on training course
In addition to the intermediate and advanced sessions during the conference, we are offering a pre-conference hands-on HTML template formatting workshop. This course is designed for those with some experience working with email confirmations. It offers the opportunity to learn more advanced coding. You can add this skill booster course after completing your registration. Simply submit a request using the TLCC assistance form.
9. Connect with partners
At TLCC Washington, D.C., you can opt to share your contact information with partners. This will make it easier to learn more about their offerings. You’ll have your first chance to connect with partners at Sunday’s opening night reception in our Sponsor Zone. You can also visit the zone throughout the week to chat with partners. Our sponsors will offer some additional opportunities for engagement during the build-your-own networking night.
10. Closing party
If you attended our last conference in Washington, D.C., you’ll see that we have a new place to party. Gaylord National has expanded and added the stunning glass-walled RiverView Ballroom. With indoor and outdoor access, it’s the perfect space for relaxing with the Tessiturians to celebrate a phenomenal conference week.
It’s not too late to sign up for TLCC Washington, D.C. Registration is open until Aug. 6. Check out our virtual pass, too.
