10 things I've learnt about Threads so far & 3 things that appeal to me as an Introvert.

As I rolled over to check the time on my phone?this morning, I saw the Threads app was live and curiosity got the better of me.

I was scrolling through this new (meant to be) Twitter clone at 5:00am and LOVED the positive vibes.?

I can only describe it as the first day of school, where everyone starts the new term together with excitement and curiosity.

Once I had a few followers and the people I?followed posted something, it soon felt like the conversations a drunk group of girls would have in the toilets whilst topping up our lippy ?? - fun, honest &?pure.

I?saw?genuine authenticity?and joy in posting with no purpose (for one day at least) and it created a nice atmosphere.?

I know it will be a different story very soon, but the perk of getting in early is you get to figure it out with the rest of us - it's a level playing field.

Here's some info about Threads from the?Creators account?and?Head of Instagram?if you haven't heard of it.

10 THINGS I'VE LEARNT ABOUT THREADS SO FAR

  1. Your username and bio are carried over from Instagram but can be edited.
  2. You can choose to follow all or some of your Instagram followers.
  3. You can have a public or private account.
  4. Threads have a 500 character limit and you can post text, images/carousels, videos (up to 5 mins), and GIFs.
  5. You can share a thread to IG Stories/Feed/Twitter (!) - see example of what this looks like below.
  6. You can't edit posts - only delete
  7. No ability to DM (yet)
  8. Hashtags don't work?
  9. Your feed includes people you follow and recommended content.
  10. If you delete your account it will delete your IG account too - remember to deactivate only ??

If you're on Threads, is there anything you'd add to this list?

I imagine more features will be introduced as the days go on. Let's learn together.

MY FIRST IMPRESSIONS AS AN INTROVERT

My Twitter account's been gathering dust for ages, so why did I?decide to become an early adopter of Meta's clone?

In all honestly, for research (because I'm an Insta Coach) to see what it's like by pressing the buttons and?deciding whether it would be a viable marketing channel for us!?

It's still early days as it only launched yesterday, but 3 things appeal to my introverted nature so far:

1. You can bring over connections from Instagram so I?feel like I'm at a party with some friends I?already know.

2. Most threads are predominantly text-based -?I?like the simplicity of connecting with words only and not having to put a face on for video (!)

3. There are lots of opportunities to get involved in threads (conversations) from people you follow and don't follow meaning you can be found and followed easily if you leave meaningful comments.?

If you're over there, what's your first impression??

Just comment below - I'm genuinely interested.

And obviously, come and find me if we're not already following each other?here.

Useful to know that you shouldn't delete your Threads account as it will delete your Instagram account. That could be a rookie error.
