10 Things I Learned About Scaling a Business in 2019

Here are 10 ways to scale your business with impact!

  1. Have a crystal clear vision - Design a clear picture of what your business will look like when you are serving more people successfully. Both in terms of numbers and income and what your work-life balance is. Success means nothing without balance.  
  2. Elevate your stories around scale - Mindset is everything! The way you think about and talk about success matters. You actually do need to create the belief that scale is attainable. 
  3. Embrace the perpetual pivot - The way you navigate challenges and shift from fear to taking strategic action when things are difficult is KEY. It’s how we act in times of struggle that matters far more than when things are smooth. And how often is life smooth?  
  4. Be consistent - You need to show up and create value. Business is a long haul game and you have to let people see and experience you and your solutions. Share your wisdom and ideas without inhibition so people get to know the real you and connect on a deeper soul level. Day in and day out. Keep it coming. 
  5. Own your niche - You get to work with your sweet spot niche, not just the niche that makes sense from a financial perspective. You get to serve people that align with your values and who you want to be around. At the end of the day, business is about authentic relationships. So pick the people that light your fire. 
  6. Create a killer offer - You need to ensure that you offer a really solid solution that gets your people the result they desire. More impact and results for your clients means more referrals and more income. Your offer needs to be branded, well-articulated and really show people how you get them from A to B. 
  7. Own your authority - Own your damn expertise already!! I don't give a crap if you don't have a master's in business or you don't have 15 fucking certificates. Stop charging based on how many years you've been in “business with an LLC” and start charging based on your actual experience and authority from years of living your journey. 
  8. Claim your Signature Solution - Don’t just say you do coaching, consulting or healing, or some type of transformational something. Elevate your message and your pitch so that you become the go-to expert for your people. You need a compelling “What do you do” statement that makes it easy for people to understand how you help them. You must streamline your message so that it's easy for people to relate to. Example: “I help conscious companies, coaches and consultants sell more and impact more people with total integrity and no B.S. business strategies” (Guess who?)
  9. Design a Model to Scale - Your business model must be scalable. You need a way to serve more clients, earn more money and not compromise quality. This means you may need a group offering, a better onboarding and client management system or a signature process that clients follow that frees up your time doing the same tasks with clients over and over. Invest in a good learning platform and build your service as a program with a clear start and finish. Please trust this one - especially if you are a consultant! 
  10. Build a team and systems that support scale - I learned this one that hard way. Despite how well I was doing in my business, the back end was not scalable. I needed to hire an Operations person and build systems that free up my time. Trying to do everything yourself on the cheap does not save you money! If you are the CEO you need to focus on speaking, serving and selling. Invest in your business and get help!

If you follow these 10 strategies I guarantee that you will open up the capacity to serve more people, sell more and scale your time and income without burning out and losing alignment with your values or your personal life. 

Because let’s be real - this is not just about the money. It’s about creating more income and impact in a way that is sustainable. ??????
