10 Surprising Lessons Every Leader Will Learn

10 Surprising Lessons Every Leader Will Learn

What distinguishes an actual leader from a simple manager? Where does real leadership start? How do good leaders turn subordinates into loyal followers?

Here are 10 rules that will allow you to become a great leader.

1.Know who you are.

Actual leadership comes from inside --and the best leaders question themselves before they handle the world around them.  Know your strengths and weaknesses. Self- understanding is a basic precondition required for real leadership.

2.Office Reveals The Individual

It shows whether the leader has undergone a process of honest self-discovery or not. If you still didn't, a leadership position will make you face your fear and change as a person. Embrace it.

3.Create your tribe

Community development and positive opinion are virtues leaders must nurture by providing the perfect support, advice and incentives.

4.Don't Waste Energy On Things You Cannot Change

Do not squander resources and energies on things you can't control, and for that reason, can't change. Better to focus on what you can actually influence.

5.Embrace The Reality

Successful leaders should always embrace fact, criticism and be skeptical. Just by looking at data and the (sometimes) harsh reality you can start to fix it. Beware: that doesn't mean you are allowed to be negative

6.Empower People With Talent

Nurture an environment that can use the forces of competition constructively, develop a platform which releases the creativity of your employees in pursuing a strong vision. One of the most important role of a leader is to develop new leaders. Allow your team members to grow, let them fail, but also let them shine.

7.Live Life With A Greater Code

Be a stoic. Try always to remain calm in difficult situations and to act according to your principles and values. KPIs and OKRs can be achieved or not achieved, but there is nothing as important as your integrity.

8.Emotional Intelligence Is Your Best Friend.

Being a leader means working with people. And to do it well, you have to understand people. That's why today leaders need to be more focus on their EQ rather than their IQ and make sure they truly understand and empower their team members.

9.Dream Big

I rarely saw a team who was motivated without a vision. That's the best to unite your team, to make them give their 100% and make sure that for them work is not just a way to spend their 9-5, but it's a mission to leave a better world to the next generation.

10.Have Fun

Too many times I have heard people being stressed by being a leader. You are missing the point. Being a leader is one of the most beautiful journey you can embark. Enjoy it. Have fun. The more you'll have fun, the more your team members will be happy!
