1) Detach From A Timeline And Prioritize The Process To Being Your Best


2) Accept That Discomfort Is The Name Of The Game No Matter What Season You’re In. Improvement Season Will Also Be Difficult At Times. It Is Better To Know You Pushed To Be Better Than Restricted Or Withheld Out Of Fear Or Unwillingness To Do What’s Truly Needed To Grow


3) Always Do Your Check Ins. If You Opt Out Of Working With Your Coach, Do Them With Yourself Anyways. Maintaining This Habit And Ability To Look At Data Going The Opposite Way Of A Prep Will Help You Normalize Fluctuations And Reinforce That This Takes Time


4) Prioritize Your Mental Health Now. If You’ve Been Sweeping Things Under The Rug, Ignoring Your Body Image Dissatisfaction Or Food Relationship Struggles And Any Maladaptive Coping; Now Is The Time To Create A New Normal Where You Learn To Tackle This And Make Peace So It Doesn’t Keep Cycle Going


5) Complete A Prep Audit. Learn From Last Pre And Identify What Needs To Change, Stay The Same, Or Be Addressed In Your Approach To Make Your Next Experience Better And More Conducive To A Positive Post-Show Experience


6) Create Commitment Statements For Yourself Based On Identity, Values, And Goals. These Are Not Specific Rules, They Are Commitments To Yourself That’s Align With Your Ideal Improvement Season Self


7) Stay Mindful So You Can Be Adaptable. Understand That Sometimes, A Wrench Will Get Thrown In. Don’t Ignore It, Pick It Up And Figure Out What You Need To Use It For…??This Is Easier When You’ve Mastered Step 1


8) Keep Your Schedule And Routine. A Lot Of People Don’t Miss Prep Itself, They Miss The Disciplined Dialed In Version Of Themselves. Prioritize Maintaining A Consistent Routine But With New Goals And Needs In Mind?


9) Take Time To Recognize All That Your Body Does For You And Has Pushed Through To Support Your Goals. Rather Than Ridiculing Your Physique As It Evolves, Celebrate How Much Your Body Does For You. This Self-Appreciation Is A Pre-Requisite To Long-Term Follow Through Because You’ll Be Naturally Inspired To Care For A Body That You See Cares For You
