10 - Scorpion Technique: Intoxicating the toxic

In this edition of “Changing the Observer” I will introduce you to a normal, very common and evasive ontotype (natural personality type) that we found difficult to identify and study when we developed our OntoPsiquis? theory, together with my colleague, Dr. Claudia Behn-Eschenburg, because one of their goals is not to be discovered as they are.

We called it “Skeptic”. Learn more by reading one of our books.

Scorpions are solitary, slow, and defend themselves by injecting their venom when they feel threatened.

I associated them with this ontotype because they are naturally suspicious and certain that there is always a threat that will affect them.

You find them as teachers or managers, children or parents, soldiers or presidents.

They are analytical individuals, planners and strategists, looking for convenient ways to move the pieces on a game board where they are the only winners.

They survive crises because they are often the ones who create them.

They believe they achieve stability when they effectively destabilize their environment.

Their fears and mistrust are the poison they accumulate and inject into those who have inadvertently or naively forged a close relationship with them.

When skeptics feel inferior to you, they can't stand the fact that you are a threat to them. That's why they attack you, trying to poison you with their own sense of inferiority. This attack is really a defense made up of three others: triumph, control, and almighty devaluation over you.

Their venom is effective when they are in control, which they achieve by obtaining data through submission through fear, or through alliances or tricks, and/or through a series of jokes that make them a social magnet.

What sustains their need for control is the sense of constant threat in which they live, so the closer you are to them, the more they need to subdue and control you

They tend to blame others, even when they are not responsible for the facts, and they make others feel small in their presence.

Never feel immune to them; strengthen your Ego by trusting and valuing yourself.

By thinking about their defenses, you can strengthen yourself by looking for ways to take away their control.

  • Block their access to your data, including "What a beautiful day!”
  • Recognize their hidden attacks and ignore them
  • They don't care about the content of your response, they just want you to respond to them. This confirms their control over you.
  • Expose them with evidence.

Take away their control and they will poison themselves with their own venom.
