The 10% Rule of thumb

How much money should a business?
Invest in marketing?
Notice I say “invest”,
Not “spend.”?
Because while marketing
Might be an line item?
In your expenses on?
Your income statement
It’s more useful for you
As an entrepreneur
To look at as an investment
Into building your brand.
That mindset shift is critical.
Because it assures that you won’t
Rush to cut your marketing budget
The minute things get tough
And you need to cut costs.
Back to the question I asked:
The basic rule of thumb is that
Your marketing budget should be
10% of your projected sales revenue?
For the year.
So, for example, if you project that you will
Make $100,00 in revenue for 2024
Then, your marketing budget should be $10,000.
It’s not a hard and fast rule.
No one is holding a gun to your head?
To spend that.
But if you are serious about?
Building your brand
And separating yourself from your competitors
Let that 10% be your benchmark.
Wish you nothing but profit and success.
