10 Reminders to Best Cope with Change in Business and in Life

Change is constant in this world. We’re always faced with change in business and in life. We simply can't stop change from happening, it’s inevitable. Whether we like it or not, change will happen in almost every area of our lives. There’s no perfect approach to facing change because we're all different.

We need to remember that change is not against us, it's not our enemy. The following 10 reminders can help us cope with change more effectively:

1. The way we respond to change is key. Resisting change will only make us stay in our comfort zones longer than we have to, living in fear, worry, and anxiety; and this is not a healthy nor desired way to live. How we cope with change will largely affect our entire life experiences, positively or negatively.

2. We need to be less fearful about change. Change affects every person on earth. Without change, we wouldn't grow. Certainly, change can be scary. It's okay to have some fear as it is part of our DNA. However, we need to remember that we are bigger than any of our fears like the fear of change.

3. We can't control everything that happens in our lives. However, we can control how we respond to change. Having a good attitude is key as change isn't always comfortable, though we can find beauty in change. Not everything in life works perfectly. As much as we plan, unavoidable things can get in the way.

4. Change is necessary for our lives, why? Because if change wouldn't occur, our bodies wouldn't develop, we wouldn't learn, and we wouldn’t advance in life. Imagine a life where all things would remain static and nothing would change; it would be a very boring and unfavorable way to live.

5. Facing change is a process. It’s completely normal to experience fear as a result of change such as the fear of uncertainty, the fear of failure, and the fear of rejection. Facing change is a process that takes effort and energy out of us, and not all of us are willing to take those steps at a given time. 

6. Change forces us to step out of our comfort zones. At times, we need a push to be courageous and face change. In life, we’re occasionally faced with events that are discouraging and painful. Know that any events that come our way can be faced with confidence and courage.

7. We already have the tools to face change. We need to look within and believe and trust in ourselves. It's essential to fill our minds with healthy, positive, and powerful thoughts. Using our mind shields will block negativity, self-doubt, low self-esteem, and everything that creates internal obstacles. 

8. Change can lead us to great opportunities. Change often creates opportunities in our lives to reach a better place than before. With self-reflection, we can have an improved perspective by focusing on solutions to overcome challenges. Remember that all situations in life are temporary.

9. Being open to change helps us to advance in life. Once we are open to facing change, we can learn a lot of new things about ourselves, about people, and about the world; this leads us to become more prepared to face new change in our lives more confidently and courageously than before.

10. The best way to resisting change is to embrace it permanently. This is why it's necessary to enjoy the good times and remember that the not so good times are temporary. We'll see the light at the end of the tunnel sooner or later. Patience is required. New beginnings are in front of us.
