10 REASONS WHY ZAMBIA WILL REMAIN POOR FOR ANOTHER 50 YEARS

1. Zambia pays money to a foreign company to have its money printed. Why should we fail to print our own money? We basically lose a lot of money to have money.
2. When Zambia receives the money, it is circulated and all the companies that keep the money in circulation are foreign owned. The banks in Zambia belong to foreign companies and they are the ones that keep the money on behalf of the people of Zambia. Natsave, and investrust are not competition.
3. The companies that collect money from the people are foreign owned. The collection companies include, Pep, Shopright, Spar, PicknPay, Chopies, Hungry lion, Mr Price etc. These companies collect huge sums of money which they deposit outside the country in their respective countries.
4. The products that Zambians Buy are all foreign made. If you are Zambian, look at your clothes, who made shirt you are wearing, bra, trouser, pant, socks, shoes, hair, nails, t-shirt, blouse etc. The bag you are carrying for work or school is not made in Zambia. The car or bus you are using, the phone you are using to read this post, the laptop, desktop, The road you are walking on tell me if all these are Zambian made. Most likely even the toilet paper you use is not Zambian made unless you are using "charm" or "softex".
5. The textbooks we use in colleges and university are not written by Zambians. We know more about Britain and the British way of doing things than we know Zambia. The education we have is foreign.
6. The law we have is foreign. Did you know that the constitution of Zambia was Written by Britain and that is what we are using 50 years after independence? Did you know that the National anthem does not have a Zambian tune? The National Anthem uses a foreign tune.
7. The minerals of Zambia are foreign owned. Did you know that Zambia exports GOLD, SILVA, AND PRECIOUS STONES ...MOST LIKELY DIAMONDS. When was the last time anyone accounted for these minerals?
8. MOST OF THE COPPER IN ZAMBIA IS NOT ACCOUNTED FOR....MOST OF THE COPPER MINED IN ZAMBIA IS NOT ACCOUNTED FOR. THE COPPER THAT IS MINED IN ZAMBIA, MOST OF IT IS NOT ACCOUNTED FOR. I hope that is clear enough. A research conducted by the UNDP found that most of the copper mined in Zambia and exported is not accounted for. The little copper that is accounted for is under invoiced.
9. The medicine Zambia uses to treat people in hospital is made by foreign nations. Zambia spends millions of US Dollars annually buying medicine from foreign countries to treat its people suffering from various diseases. Do you remember that a company came to Zambia - Mazabuka and infected many women with HIV AIDS all in the name of experiments...I wonder what has happened with that case. We spend billions of US Dollar to buy ARVs and we have decided as a country not to invest millions of Kwacha to develop a cure for HIV which is already there,,,SF2000.
10. Corruption and Greed is Owned by Zambia. As a nation we do not own everything above mentioned but we own corruption and greed. The majority of Zambians are not educated, The majority of Zambians have no electricity. The majority of Zambians do not have a toilet. Zambia is one of the most corrupt nations in the world. The system is so deep it will take a completely new generation to sort it out or very strong will power from the president as the case is in Tanzania
Bonus - Donor aid. Donor aid is bad for the nation and its subjects. Donor aid kills the confidence and pride in the people. The American President called Africa, Zambia included, as Shithole Nation. No one president spoke to the contrary or challenged the pronouncement. When you depend on donor aid you will be insulted and not respond. The best way to control a people is to give them aid. The person that borrows will always be a slave.
Zambia has a system challenge which needs serious solutions and those solutions are in the minds of the young people. We are the solution to the poverty and discrimination and divided wealth.

2 年This is more the reasons as Zambians we need to change the narrative. We need as a matter of urgency to start promoting Zambian Investment by Zambians ideologies.

6 年The biggest problem with Zambia is the majority of its people's mindset and belief systems . I actually find it patronising when all foreigners say about Zambia is that we are caring, very nice, friendly, prleaceful and good people because therein lies the problem . You cant getvahead in life by just being nice to everybody, including those who take advantage. In my opinion, what Zambia and Zambians should do is define how they see the future of the country and Nation and what, in the eyes of Zambians, constitutes or defines success. The truth is that you cannot become an economically and financially successful person or country if you have a poverty mindset snd dont place a high value on financial independence and wealth building. Your goal(s) have to be aligned with your behaviour or what your life demonstrates.

6 年Changing political parties in power will not help us. Zambia needs deeper than that. Politicians from both ruling and opposition think they know better than the people who put them in power. Zambia has both manpower and resources. Let our leaders take a leaf from the bees. When critical decisions are to be made stakeholders are not given an opportunity to express their views which can influence the best decision. The leadership has made a decision to buy national airline s regardless what stakeholders think ( eg).

6 年This is accurate and straight to the point. I wish this could be printed in various languages and then distributed widely. If more people understand where the problems start from, we can work together to resolve them.
