10 Reasons why Victoria Falls in Zim needs a COMEDY DOME

Over the years of performing comedy one of the things that has definately slowed down the growth of stand up comedy on the local industry is the absence of a comedy venue.

A place where comics can work on their craft to a number of different audiences. For me as a comic my growth has in part been in always travelling to various comedy scenes around the world so I can work on my craft. Knowing that has resulted in me doing research on how the local comedy scene can benefit from some of my experiences hence the idea to build a COMEDY VENUE in Victoria Falls. Why there you ask? I have listed below 10 of the numerous reasons why this is the best place to start in Zimbabwe.

International Airport

The international airports basically means stand up comedians can fly in and out of a TOURIST ATTRACTION which is literally killing 2 birds with one stone. This formula has worked well for CAPE TOWN COMEDY CLUB where watching comedy is one of the THINGS TO DO in that amazing city.

Rotating Audiences

Due to the nature of Victoria Falls, the audiences are always changing. For comedians this is a great thing as our material gets to be practised more widely and not too much pressure is on new comics to always generate new shows. They can become OUTSTANDING COMEDIANS.

Great place to start

Remember that the rest of the points on this article don’t mean that the BUILD THE DOME project is the only one. We call this a proof of concept. Over the years I have tried to convince restaurant and bar owners to convert their spots into COMEDY CLUBS as opposed to having comedy nights. Hopefully when you help us prove the concept we may get more BARS convert to actual comedy clubs.

Other types of comedy

The beauty with Victoria Falls is that there is a number of executions that can provide lots of work for comedians as well as much entertainment to locals and visitors. Because there is a comedy club in Vic Falls you can also do comedy cruises, comedy in Zambia. Overlanders, game drives, bush dinners and even Airport bars when there are delayed flights.

Gateway to International Comedians

Carl Joshua Ncube has travelled a lot and met many stand up comedians who have Victoria Falls on their bucket list. Imagine being able to make this happen plus give them a show would be awesome. I am stretching my neck out here but I am sure with proper sponsorships locally even brands like COMEDY CENTRAL would film specials in Zimbabwe.

Start to many other clubs

Resident ComedianImagine what it will mean to always have comedians in the resort town. People have a relatively inexpensive option for entertainment. Literally a PA system with a mic is all we might need to service the town of Victoria Falls.

Conferencing

Victoria Falls is always hosting conferences and meetings or workshops with so many variations of delegates from 10  to thousands. Most have to bring their own entertainment to Victoria Falls or are limited to entertainment available locally. Stand up comedy will add variety to it. With a cruise first, then dinner at the BOMA then late night stand up comedy at the DOME!

Self Worth

Imagine if we manage to convince 20,000 of you to buy your $10 ticket in advance then this means we have at least 20,000 Zimbabweans proudly saying, I HELPED BUILD THAT DOME! With all the bad news and negative publicity we are 20,000 people and $10 away from doing something awesome.

One of four in Africa

The Comedy DOME once built will be one of four STAND UP COMEDY VENUES in Africa. After Parkers comedy and Jive, Cape Town Comedy Club and Goliaths Comedy Club that are in South Africa. Imagine Zimbabwe being in that list
