Trekking around the world provides a number of tangible and intangible benefits.??Trekking is the stroke of inspiration which encourages a trekker to endure all the disapprovals and battles that come his way.
The sense of independence and liberation of human beings is justified and comprehended when they succeed to conquer the summit which basically conquering himself.?A nature enthusiast is often torn between the profound pleasure in the accomplishment of the trek itineraries and delight of the struggles that inspired them.
A whirling ballet of ideas and adventures, notes and dreams make a trekker live a life of a hedonist. A trekker’s love for adventure, exploration and voyaging aids him to stand out in the crowd. It is just not a saying but a well-proven fact that trekking gains us clarity, precision and wisdom.
Here are 10 reason why one should go for a trek every year or every quarter
1.????It Makes You Fearless
There are moments where you actually face many obstacles while climbing. You actually see that it is not as easy as you thought but at the same time it’s not impossible either. ?Comfort zone is not where you are meant to be as you are designed to do bigger things in life.?You realize that your competition is not others but your own fears. Hit the refresh button to conquer your fear.
2.????Me Time
Eloquence of the time for self is the world’s greatest gladness and trekking proposes it in abundance. The beautiful landscapes and meadows never interfere or mess with your thoughts and you are totally free and on your own. The silence there helps you to soothe your senses and heal your wounds, deleting all those terrible incidents you have been through. The lavishness of the hours spent in the lap of widely spread mountain ranges, watching spectacular nightfall & crack of dawn and staring at the stars and luminaries cannot be rendered in words… Peaks are the best place to actually forget everything and live for a moment there – as you made it leaving all the WEIGHT behind.
3.?????Give your Lungs & Heart a makeover
A trekking is a great workout which improves your cardiac system. The trekker is constantly on the move in the dense jungle and mountains, far away from air pollution, breathing fresh and clean air which boosts their respiratory system.?This also pumps more blood through the heart and enhances your lung capacity.?It challenges the body to a point that a trekker starts focusing on his breathing as it gets difficult to talk. Trekking not only strengthens the heart but also reduces the risk of heart attack and lowers cholesterol level.?A trek can be the ultimate test of your physical abilities and because of this it is a wonderful motivator to enhance physical fitness.
?4.????To clear your mind or I would say its helps Mental Wellness
A trek may provide the perfect opportunity for you to clear your mind and consider your life in a new way. They provide an amazing level of serenity that is seldom available in the urban life. The fascinating views, mesmerizing water bodies, snow covered mountains, the majestic starry nights soothe the mind and calms the nerve. The fresh air we breathe while trekking makes our body release happy hormone i.e. endorphin. This hormone lowers the stress level in the body. If you’re facing a significant life decision, a trip away from home can help you change your perspective. You may even meet a few new friends on your trek that can help you think more clearly.
5.????Learnings – Humility, Team Spirit, and Survival Skills
A trek just isn’t just about sunsets and sunrise or rocks and boulders, you learn a lot more while you travel to the mountain and get to experience the simple life of those places. We like to call it “involuntary learning” – your mind just absorbs everything when you feed it this way.
A trekker consciously observes how essential food and water sources are for the human kind. You may be holding a ruck sack and may need to bend a little while climbing especially the summit part teaching you humility and it helps one understand that how tiny place, one occupies is in the world.?You can also learn a bunch of survival skills like lightening up a fire, making shelter, etc. and may become a green crusader. I started carrying my own steel mug wherever I would go, my little effort to save the environment. ?Your sense of imagination will go to a whole new level and you may develop your sixth sense as well.
?6. ?????Meet new people
Man is a social animal and socializing does not have to be confined to social media. I believe Real talks matter. Going around the new places, exploring like-minded people and making new friends helps. Another aspect is when we meet new people along the trails, we get to know different cultures, traditions and see life from other’s perspective also. It imbibes in us a sense of responsibility, team spirit, sharing and caring.
7.????Transparency, Clarity and arrest ageing
Trekking does not offer a comfortable time but it comes up with efforts and exertions. The warmth and friendliness extended by the local people melt our hearts and faith is restored in the kindness that we have been forgetting for some time. ?There are times when you have to take life changing decisions and you know no place to go and ask your queries. That’s when you run away to quite place especially to the mountains, close your eyes and meditate.
A little change in the insights can have a long-standing impact on your life. This is the actual Botox one needs rather than the cosmetic one to arrest ageing.
8.????It makes you start living in the present
?In our daily life, we often think, discuss the past and future of our friends and relatives to earn better and live a better life, however, we only think of the present moment while on the trek. The only thing you want to do is place the foot at the right place and continue doing so until you reach the destination rather than falling down. Enjoy the view, melt yourself in that beauty, laugh on yourself that yes, you are doing it for your own self, listen your own heartbeats, listen to that voice inside of you which is saying that you are a crazy beautiful soul. You can only do this when you are living in the present moment. ????
?9.????Adrenalin Rush?
?There are challenging treks where the route is through precarious peaks and valleys. This is like precisely what a doctor has ordered for a thrill-seeker, a trek can provide a much-needed adrenaline rush. I remember in Nepal, while coming down from a trek, we divided the journey into 4 different stretches, skiing, rafting, rock climbing and walking. The team was on a super high when they reached the camp, high as high on life and not on spirits. Travelling to unfamiliar territory frequently presents new and exotic experiences to you. The flora and fauna of the place adds new dimensions to your life as well. ?
?10.?Gaining scores of Spirituality ?
?Have you ever heard the sound of a God? I remember walking at -18 or -20 in heavy snowfall at around 19000 feet. After 20000 feet, there was a profound silence which was sound of God, sound of the mountain and yes we felt serene there and yes it was like ecstasy.?
You will never be the same person after each and every trek as the mountain will be a part of your soul.?
