Are you looking for a job? Is the interview the most challenging part for you? Well, I'm here to help.
Recently, I conducted a survey on LinkedIn to find out what the most difficult aspects of job hunting were. The two options that were most commonly selected were the interview and finding places to submit your resume. Today, I'll assist you with the interview, and later, I'll help you with where to submit your CV.
I'm Frank, the same person who wrote about the machine that's grinding us down. It might sound strange that I'm now giving you tips on how to secure a job more easily, right? Yes, it is, but I don't have the power to change the world. However, I do know one thing: you, in your current situation, are the most affected by that mechanism (I know because I'm there too). That's why, even if it ultimately means just helping the machine, I must figure out how to assist you (US) in avoiding those millstones. So, I'll provide you with these guidelines to help you navigate your situation.
HR professionals have more or less standardized the questions they ask in interviews everywhere, and they are all quite similar. These standard interview questions, along with their ideal answers, are what I'm going to give you now. But now that you're closer to your goal, remember three things:
- Read and study this several times before the interview.
- Understand that when everyone knows this, it may change in the future (of course, the machine doesn't want to be bypassed). For now, it's likely the only tool you have at your disposal to defend yourself.
- AND MOST IMPORTANTLY, don't forget that there are many others like you facing the same problem. Don't keep it to yourself alone; share it, disseminate it, just as I have with you. We all deserve an opportunity. Can I count on you? Well, here we go:
1. "Tell me about yourself." This seemingly simple question is an opportunity to highlight your relevant experiences, skills, and achievements. Prepare a brief introduction that showcases your suitability for the job.2. "What are your greatest strengths?" In this question, emphasize your key skills that are relevant to the job. Support each strength with concrete examples of how you have successfully applied them in the past.3. "What are your weaknesses?" Select a non-essential weakness for the job and describe how you are working to overcome it. This demonstrates your ability for self-reflection and improvement.4. "Why do you want to work here?" Research the company and mention aspects that appeal to you, such as its culture, values, or achievements. Connect your response to how your contribution can benefit the company.5. "Tell me about a challenging situation you've faced at work and how you resolved it." Prepare with specific examples of past challenges, highlighting your ability to lead, problem-solve, and work as part of a team.6. "Why should we hire you?" Highlight your skills and experience that make you the ideal candidate. Back up your claims with examples of previous achievements that demonstrate your value.7. "Can you give me an example of how you work in a team?" Provide an example in which you have effectively collaborated with others, emphasizing communication and organization.8. "What is your experience with [specific technology or skill required for the position]?" Demonstrate that you possess the necessary skills for the job, supporting it with examples of past projects where you successfully applied them.9. "Where do you see yourself in five years?" This question evaluates your long-term vision and commitment to the company. Be realistic and show how your growth will benefit both parties.10. "Do you have any questions for us?" Prepare questions about the company, the team, or the position to demonstrate your interest and commitment.
Preparing for these questions will boost your confidence during the interview and allow you to showcase your experience and skills. Don't forget to tailor your answers to the specific company and position, and be sure to conduct thorough research before the interview. Preparation is the key to success in the job selection process, and these 10 questions will help you be better prepared for any job interview. Good luck in your job search!
