10 Questions about the positives of 'the new normal'?

10 Questions about the positives of 'the new normal'

Which of these positives have come out of your experience during lock down?

Which of them would you like to keep afterwards?

1.      Have you become more comfortable using different technologies? Especially video calling and remote communication tools?

2.      Did you used to think remote working was ineffective and have you now realised you can do your job from home? If you’re a manager, have you realised your team can work effectively even when they’re not in the office?

3.      Have you benefited from a more flexible approach to work? Has greater flexibility allowed you to work more effectively with colleagues in other time zones or enhance your work / life balance for example?

4.      Have you collaborated on a new project or worked with different people across the business? In the office we often only talk to those in our immediate vicinity, has this allowed you to branch out and expand your network?

5.      Have you found you have more time and space for innovative ideas, who has come up with something new in the last 2 weeks?

6.      Have you been re-thinking and adjusting your work / life balance? Have you had more time to spend with the kids, do home improvements or gardening, exercise and catch up with friends without the wasted time of commuting?

7.      Re-thinking your consumption, with supermarkets being a bit sparse, especially at the beginning of this, have you found way to live without or substitute goods you used to think were essential?

8.      Has your attitude to money changed? A lot of us will have saved money on travel expenses and leisure activities, have you found different ways make the most of your household budget?

9.      Have you picked up a new hobby or developed a new skill? Who has been developing their cooking skills or doing self-study from home?

10.  Have you supported a loved one or got involved in a community project to support the more vulnerable during this time? Has this given you a chance to volunteer and focus on your individual contribution to the local community?

You’ve hit the nail on the head with these points Catherine. I personally can relate to all of them. Does eating more comfort food class as a positive? ??

I'm hopeful that more people will be able to work flexibly. It makes such a difference to move from presenteeism to output as a measure of effort!
