10 questions for Michael Frey

At Storopack work 2,430 employees at 68 locations in 19 countries. In our "10 questions ..." series, employees from different areas of the company share insights into their everyday work. Today, Michael Frey tells us what drives him as a Technician and what makes work at Storopack special for him.

1.?Tell us about your job at Storopack.??

I started at Storopack in August 2016 as a Technician in the Service Center in the PAPERplus? department. My job is to maintain and repair the Classic1?machines. Currently, I am in the projects department and build silos, SMARTline tables and much more according to a plan drawn by development. I really like the fact that I can work in a different department every now and then, so I have variety and a little insight into Storopack's large product range. In addition to being an initial and fire safety helper, I also volunteer as a safety officer for the Service Center and support my supervisors and colleagues as best I can with questions or implementation.

2.?What does a typical working day look like??

My workday starts at 7 a.m. with a short "check-in" round. Here we discuss the day's schedule. This way we all have the same information and misunderstandings are avoided. Then we go to our assembly stations and build the project according to the drawing. If I have any questions, I can easily contact my production manager, team leader or engineer in development. Shortly before closing time, we stand together again, this time for a "check-out" round and discuss what was good or bad. This way, we can quickly make improvements and increase quality.

3.?What do you particularly like about your role??

I can decide for myself what task I do, how and when. Through the honorary position as a safety officer, I also have the opportunity to attend further and advanced training there.

4.?What drives you to work in your area of responsibility?

I always enjoy learning, seeing new products and workflows.

5.?What qualities do you most often need at work and why?

Ability to work in a team and technical understanding.

6.?What excites you most about Storopack as an employer??

The great cooperation with colleagues and supervisors. The working atmosphere is relaxed and respectful.

Sustainability, quality, future-oriented.

8.?What advice would you give young professionals in your job??

Technical understanding and willingness to learn.
