10 questions for Max Albrecht

Today, Max Albrecht tells us what drives him as a area sales manager and what makes work at Storopack special for him.

1. ?Tell us about your job at Storopack.?

My career at Storopack began with the start of my training as an industrial clerk in 2016, which I was able to continue with the next step in internal sales after completing it in 2019. Since 2022, I have been Area Sales Manager at Storopack, responsible for the entire customer base and all potential in zip code areas 60, 63 and 97 in the Packaging Division. The site in Dietzenbach, Germany was and is my "home base" and I benefit from the close proximity to our customers around the site. My tasks as Area Sales Manager range from customer acquisition and expanding the customer base to customer support.

2. ? What does a typical working day look like?

My working day is very individual for the most part. I usually leave the house in the morning and make appointments and phone calls with customers throughout the day. ?I then return to my home office in the afternoon and document the day's activities. I can already initiate many things that I would like to work out for our customers in collaboration with my colleague in the office. The focus is always on the customer and their needs.

3. ? What do you particularly like about your role?

I really enjoy interacting with a wide variety of people and I am always learning new things and gaining new experiences. No two days are the same and I always have to take an individual approach to different situations. In addition, in my role as Area Sales Manager, I work as an "entrepreneur within the company", so to speak, and therefore have a great deal of freedom in terms of organization and decision-making.

4. ? What drives you to work in your area of responsibility?

The proximity to the customer and the constant new challenges are a great incentive for me. I always want to develop the optimal, individual solution for our customers and create added value for their daily work. I can always count on the support of my product specialists and the area sales manager team.?

5. ? What qualities do you most often need at work and why??

Empathy for the thoughts of other people. Various internal and external influences have an impact on each person, and each person needs individual support. It is important for me to analyze and understand these needs so that I can provide the best possible advice and support.

6. ? What excites you most about Storopack as an employer?

The term "family business" is actually lived at Storopack and not just used as a catchphrase. Here, employees are not just a "number", but are valued as employees and people. Despite all the professionalism, humanity is not lost and you will always find a sympathetic ear among your colleagues.

In addition, the personal development of employees is not limited and there are various opportunities for advancement within the company.

7. ? If you had to describe Storopack in three words, which would it be?

?Familiar, innovative and lively.

8. ? What advice would you give young professionals in your job?

For the job of area sales manager, the willingness to go the "extra mile" is absolutely essential - the greater the investment, the greater the success. You should always develop a personal structure in your way of working without losing your own flexibility.?

9. ? What can you definitely not go without in your work day?

Definitely my company car and my company cell phone. But a notepad is at least as important for the flashes of inspiration that accumulate throughout the working day.

10. What hobbies / things do you like to do that make you YOU?

I am a big fan of Eintracht Frankfurt and still play soccer myself. Team sport has shaped me since I was five years old and has shown me that it is incredibly important to have a strong team around you. My opinion is that a well-functioning team will always trump individuals in the long run.
