1.?Tell us about your job at Storopack.?
Responsible for all Human Resources & Administration for Storopack North America. I work in the corporate office in Cincinnati, Ohio. I will be celebrating 8 years of service with Storopack in June of 2022.
2.?What does a typical working day look like?
With HR, everyday is different. We have a team of five including myself that are responsible for different aspects of HR. Our main focus is to support our managers and employees with any HR related issues.
3.?What do you particularly like about your role??
I like the opportunity to be involved at the executive level of the organization - participate in the decision making that supports our overall business. At the same time, it is very satisfying to work directly with our managers and employees on a day to day basis.?
4.?What drives you to work in your area of responsibility?
Helping people - HR is payroll, benefits, training, education, etc. - there are many areas that we touch as HR professionals that impact our employees and their families daily lives.
5.?What qualities do you most often need at work and why?
Listening, patience. Ability to be open-minded; each situation is usually a little different than the one before. The ability to be consistent but also flexible when needed. Also, confidence is important as well.
6.?What excites you most about Storopack as an employer?
Family-owned. We are a big company, but yet we have the opportunity to get to know each other. Storopack is competitive - it is fun to work for a company that understands and recognizes the importance of good benefits & pay, working conditions and opportunity.
7.?If you had to describe Storopack in three words, which would it be?
Family, flexible, competitive.
8.?What advice would you give young professionals in your job??
HR requires flexibility, patience and the ability to work on many tasks at that same time. You must be a good listener. Most employees expect HR to "provide the answer" - so it is important that you listen, understand and communicate the correct information.
9.?What can you definitely not go without in your work day?
Communicating with my HR team and our employees in person or over the phone.?
10. What hobbies/things do you like to do that make you YOU?
I like to play golf when I have time. I have two grandkids - Ella is 4 and Easton is 2 = they keep us very busy at times. Enjoy spending time outdoors in the warm weather.?
