Having spent over 5 years as a front-line major gifts fundraiser, I've seen firsthand how impactful philanthropy can be on students, faculty, and donors. In conversations, donors usually just want to know where their money is going and how it's making a difference. Here are 10 I always heard:

1. Who Are the Recipients of My Scholarship? This is a given. Scholarship supporters are eager to hear about the students whose lives have been positively impacted by their scholarships.
2. How Much of My Donation Actually Goes to the Students? Concerned about the allocation of their funds, donors want clarity on the percentage of their donation that directly reaches the students, covering tuition fees, books, and other expenses.
3. What Research Projects Have Been Supported? For those interested in advancing medical or academic research, details about the specific projects funded by their contributions are critical, providing insight into the progress made possible by their generosity.
