10 QUESTIONS TO CAPTURE YOUR LESSONS- LEARNED & BLESSINGS-EARNED

10 QUESTIONS TO CAPTURE YOUR LESSONS- LEARNED & BLESSINGS-EARNED

You may have received this message in your inbox already, but I woke up to 37 out of office reply's this morning, so (even though I'm on a social media break) I'm grabbing the opportunity to share this with you.

521.784 weeks have flown by, and we've only 1 week left in this decade!

Reason enough to slow down and reflect on your life, on the decisions you’ve made, the people you’ve met, fell in love with or lost, the crazy things you’ve done, the (personal) battles you’ve won, the inevitable challenges you’ve overcome and the memorable moments you’ve collected.

As I’m writing this email I’m realizing that my current reality is nothing close to the expectations I held about myself and the future. But, looking back, I've been more than privileged to experience both ends of the spectrum.

I founded a start-up company, I built an incredible team, I went helicopter skiing in Canada, I burned more calories dancing than one would do when running a full marathon, I gave my heart and commitment to the son of a woman I fell in love with, I’ve been supported and encouraged by my loving parents, I lived in thriving places like Amsterdam, London and Bali, I’ve spent my 30th birthday driving (in a campervan) through New Zealand, and while I was doing all this, I’ve met the most amazing, inspiring and caring people that I can now call my friends.

But it wasn’t all roses and sunflowers, I've made more mistakes than you can count, walked the road shame, loss, the sudden death of my best friend, and fought my toughest ever health crisis.

Through all these experiences, I got to know the depths of my own personality, which leapt me into a process of radical change and ignited an infinite drive to explore, excel and enrich the full spectrum of life.

My question to you is, did you capture the lessons?

I know you’re about to enjoy your time with your family and loved ones, but I want to leave you with 10 questions that will help you to capture the your lessons-learned and blessings-earned.

Here you go.

Looking back on the past 10 years...

  1. The 5 things I’m most proud of are….?
  2. The 3 moments/experiences I felt most alive, inspired or excited are…?
  3. The 3 moments/experiences I felt most connected and loved are…?
  4. The 10 people that have made a difference in my life (and why) are…?
  5. The 3 people that have left a mark on me are... But the lessons I learned from it are…?
  6. The biggest mistake I've made is…. But the 1-3 lessons I learned from it are…?
  7. A moment/experience when I felt my lowest (and why) is…?
  8. The #1 decision I should have made to make my life better is….?
  9. The #1 habit I should have developed to live a more healthy and balanced is…?
  10. The #1 thing I’ve learned about myself is…?

I hope these questions will help you to reflect and grow, but for now, I want to thank you for your support. Merry Christmas and cheers to a joyful present and a well-remembered past!

Much love,

Jord
