10 Profound Things I Learned From My Mother
The sweet memory of my mother stays with me in everything I do. Growing up as an only child was fun, but I found myself constantly in need of guidance as I did not have a sibling to look up to, to share my problems, worries, doubts, or fears. My mother always came to my rescue; there were so many profound things she told me as I grew up, the meaning of which was not completely understood by me at the time. But as the days pass by and I carry on living my life without her by my side, her voice continues to stay with me as a constant conscience helping me to overcome my fears, and decide between right & wrong, good & bad, important & unnecessary.
Teachings of a mother are like a treasure to those who want to live a more meaningful and grounded life with lesser regrets. As it is rightly said - Mom knows best! There are countless occasions when I have needed her help to decide about almost everything.
Today I want to share with the world a few things she taught me, in a hope that you’ll find them as good as your own mother’s advice.
1)????“Nobody is going to do it for you, so either you be your own hero, or have the courage to see someone else become one. Remember, the world will only reminisce The Hero and not the one who missed the opportunity.”
2)????“So what you failed, I have faith in you and I know that you will be the best in anything you put your mind to. Failures are also important, they are the best teachers.”
3)????“Do not take what’s not rightfully yours, I have raised you to know better than that.”
4)????“Doesn’t matter what other people think of you or how they behave. The way you behave or respond to them will determine how you have been raised.”
5)????“To help others, you first need to make yourself capable enough. Helping someone in need is a good deed and the 'good' will indeed come back to you in tenfolds, just ensure nobody takes advantage of your kindness.”
6)????“Learn to forgive, this way you will always be the bigger person in the room, and the bonus part is - you get to keep your peace of mind. Life is a gift, it’s too short to hold grudges with anyone - even if that person has done more harm to you than good.”
7)????“A person is known by the company he/she keeps – you’ll become the same as your friend circle and this is a universal truth.”
8)????"The more you read, the more your mind, thoughts, and perspective grow.”
9)????“Don’t delay anything important or it will soon become urgent and you will find yourself less effective in finding an appropriate solution - implementing a good idea is always a good idea.”
10)????“Watching or reading something that you shouldn’t is not wrong, but doing something that your heart doesn't follow, is Undeniably Wrong.”
I try to remember all of her teachings to date, it helps me to have a better outlook towards life along with everything & everyone related to me. I forgive easily, carry on with my life without holding grudges, and have faith in the superpower as my Mom did.
At last, one golden piece of advice that I want to give you which was also passed on to me by my mother:
“You don’t lie to your Mom, a mother always knows.”?:)
Thanks for your time!
