All you have to know is how to write an eye-catching job ad that will attract the brilliant people you want working for you. Here are 10 easy tips on writing a Job Ad to attract the right people to your open position:
1) Have a clear job title to attract attention. Perfect job title will help the ad appear higher in the candidates’ searches.
2) Make sure the posting is easy to read. Avoid using jargons and use simple language so that it is easily understood by the candidates.
3) It is important to speak directly to candidates so mention all the details that you want to convey to the candidates.
4) With technology moving ahead, candidates prefer to use any job portal on their mobile phones rather than resorting to laptops/desktops in their free time, so you know how and where your potential candidates will read the post. Keeping it short and to the point is more important than ever.
5) Starting with a company summary is crucial as it will help the candidates to know about the company. Providing the candidates with a weblink of website in the job description will make the candidates familiar with the workings of the company.
6) Give an overview of the role in a brief paragraph and communicate the intent of the role to the potential candidates.
7) Describe the responsibilities to the candidates, after all it’s important to help candidates visualize a typical day at work. Be as descriptive as possible.
8) Post a salary range. Writing a salary range in the job description will heavily influence their willingness to apply for the job.
9) Tell the candidates what they need to do to apply and how to go about the next round of the process of job application.
10) Candidates will never search for jobs by weird job titles. They will straight away look for something they actually want to apply for, so avoid using weird titles in your job descriptions like ‘ninja, guru, genius, wizard, Rockstar’. It will affect the likelihood of someone applying for a weird job title and it might turn down good candidates too.
