#10 - Monday Musings - Announcing....
Book a Tarot Reading with me here.
Phew! I feel like sharing this openly is taking a big weight off of my chest (which I was not expecting). My intuition has always shown up in my work - I just choose not to call it that at work. My colleagues tease me because “I always know what is going to happen before it happens” (the fun part for me is when I am right and they are surprised - ha!). While my ‘work premonitions’ are not a function of my tarot practice, they are part of my intuition. Intuition is a resource we all have access to, that I believe is worth exploring. I have focused on honing my intuition throughout my life, with increasing attention beginning in my mid-twenties.?
I believe our “gut” and our “hearts” offer us information that is as worthy of consideration as our thoughts or a piece of data. I believe that our gut, hearts, head, and the external information we can gather should act in concert with one another to shape our beliefs and actions. Going too far in any one direction may create unbalanced outcomes and results, which no one wants or benefits from.?
My History with Tarot
I first came across Tarot when I was 13. My Pop (grandpa) had picked me up from school and we went to the Clovis Public Library. I had recently been allowed to explore all sections of the adult portion of the library and was very interested in global religions and spirituality. I remember coming across some tarot books, adding them to my stack, and falling in love with the images and practice when I got home.?
As a multi-passionate person, tarot was then forgotten for a couple of years - until my next door neighbor’s mom did a reading for me when I was 15. She predicted one of the most eventful moments in my life in that reading. My former interest, combined with my personal experience, launched my tarot practice. I found myself at Barnes and Noble, buying a deck against my mother’s instructions, tucking it deep into the pockets of my winter jacket and hiding the deck in my bedroom. I began reading the cards at school for my classmates - producing a spectrum of emotions when what I saw and shared struck a cord with my peers.

My twenties were a very hot and cold relationship with the practice. I de-emphasized reading for others and the readings I did for myself told me things I didn’t want to hear. In my late twenties, I developed a more rigorous relationship and practice, doing weekly readings for myself each Sunday night to set myself up for the week. I enjoyed reading for MBA classmates, found myself sharing my skill with some coworkers at various offsites, and of course with my friends and family. I would always gift these readings, and when I was encouraged by others to charge for them, I couldn’t bring myself to in light of my full-time work.?
While I am still working full-time, I would like to use the funds I make doing Tarot Readings to fund a long-term project myself and some dear friends are undertaking. Your support of my next big project (and surprise!) would be deeply appreciated. My goal for February is to book ten readings. I am continuing to offer accessible, sliding scale pricing, alongside donated readings each month so I can share this gift with as many people as I can.?
Tarot Readings are just the beginning. I am currently in the process of writing a book - the one I wish I had when I was learning - and my friends may even convince me to finally do that YouTube Channel (I hate to see a camera coming, so, hold on that idea). Stay tuned!
