A website design both appeals and generates revenue is the best by any means. Here are 10 mistakes to avoid while making your first website.
- Non-responsive Design: Google loves responsive design that helps your site to rank faster rather only making the site more accessible.
- No-Favicon: Gives an extra visual cue to visitors while using multiple tabs.
- Error 404 pages: is a traffic killer most users hit the back button for leaving your site for no good reason.
- Carousels: Though responsive they create blind spots.
- Slow Speed: On an average great website take 7 seconds approximately to load more will cause losing both rank and traffic.
- Slow Server Response: Higher server response approximately 200ms or higher indicates underlying performance issues, for example, slow database queries, etc.
- Unconventional design: That might give a uniqueness but the same time reduces visitors to the ease of browsing. For example, no search bar or home button.
- Unclear fonts: affect readability and compatibility in different browsers.
- Non-readable content: Only 28 percent of contents read by a visitor, we call it eye reading that doesn’t mean less content but higher readability of relevant content with proper fewer grammatical mistakes.
- Non-minified CSS, JS, or Html: ensures the functionality while removing unnecessary stuff that vigorously improves the loading speed.
