10 Minutes with a Team Member

Fongit is Switzerland’s premier innovation platform, providing funding and support to startups in the Canton of Geneva. We have a hard-working behind the scenes team, dedicated to helping our startups achieve success. For you to get to know better our amazing team, we will be taking ten minutes with each team member to ask some interesting questions about what everyone does not only at Fongit but outside of work, too.

What is your position at Fongit?

I'm a Marketing, Communications and Events Manager at Fongit.

What do you love most about working in this role at Fongit?

Working in a startup incubator is incredibly interesting! No two days are the same in the startup world and you get to meet fascinating people.

How long have you been working at Fongit and what are your main responsibilities?

I started in the beginning of August. My main responsibilities include:

- Communications of tech startup news using social digital media and marketing of Fongit

- Organization and coordination of internal and external events

- Representing Fongit at external events

- Networking startups together, and creating a Swiss startup culture

- Serve as a key interface between Fongit, startups and external organisations

What were you doing before you joined the Fongit Team?

I was doing a Master in Responsible Management at the University of Geneva

What made you want to apply for this position at Fongit ?

I have always been interested in the startup world. I had already worked with Fongit as part of a university project on startups and SDGs and really enjoyed collaborating with them so applying for this position was a no-brainer!

What is something your coworkers might be surprised to learn about you?

I have been living in Switzerland for 6 years but I've never been skiing.

What is your favourite way to unwind at the end of a long work day?

After a long work day, I enjoy relaxing with a good book or a movie.

What series or film would you recommend on your favourite streaming service?

I highly recommend Succession and The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel.

Where would your dream vacation be to and why?

To South Africa, I've always wanted to go there!
