10 Lessons from DCEO Women's Leadership Symposium

I had a wonderful time attending DCEO Women's Leadership Symposium on June 29th, 2022.

The event was focused on how we re-emerge after the past few years full of challenges and how to reset and reframe our mindset for what's to come.

We started with a calming meditation lead by Leah Frazier and proceeded into the programming.

I was furiously taking notes to capture all the nuggets of wisdom these incredible women were sharing with the participants.

Here are 10 of the wisdoms that stood out to me and which I'd like to adopt into my life:

  1. "The world is changing, and we all need to lead". - Neena Newberry
  2. "Connection is still the most important part and collaborative learning is the new direction for educational content." - Neena Newberry
  3. "Successful women are often willing to help out. You just need to ask." - Stephanie Robinson
  4. "Give yourself permission to do nothing, and come back to it when you're ready." - Veronica Torres Hazley
  5. "Re-imagine established orthodoxies out loud and engage others in the conversation." - Jennifer Bartkowski
  6. "Boundaries setting is an exercise in self-worth". - Jennifer Carter
  7. "See people for who they are instead of what they do." - Jennifer Carter
  8. "A woman's time and energy is her power." - Miki Woodard
  9. "Bet on yourself. Only you can get in the way of your own journey." - Sandra McNeil
  10. "You get to decide if you steer the boat of your life or if you ride in the back." - Dr. Robin Pinkley
