I wrote this a few years ago.
I found it yesterday and found it to be still spot on to me.
Number 1 used to be more present in my head but rarely think about it these days.
Number 10 has proven to be even more true as times go by. That's good!
Still love number 4 and 5.
Here we go!
1. The cynics are wrong. It’s ultra rewarding and meaningful indeed to be of service and have happy customers.
2. Competition is good for business. Competition/collaboration — same coin.
3. Align your interests with your clients' interests long term. It’s not a one-time transaction, but rather a lifelong partnership.
4. Feedback will be served for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Enjoy it or go home.
5. The best networks always win. It takes a team to climb the mountain.
6. The money thing is mindblowing - I mean, how differently people relate to it. (just a realization)
7. It’s rare to find someone comfortable with sales. What’s up with that? (another realization)
8. Some people are good at marketing…they tend to disappear fast when that’s all they got.
9. It’s not “Is this a good niche for me?”. It’s more like “Am I good for this niche?”
10. The value of small daily work compounds over time, thank God for this miracle. These are the lessons coming to mind today. Did I miss any other important lessons?
3 fresh new ones from Oct 2024.
11. Only a successful frame of mind can create a successful reality. (tips on that here)
12. If you are not able to sell yourself - if you are not in love with your creation, other's won't even look at it. You need to work more on it.
13. Give yourself another chance. A second chance. A third chance. A fourth chance. Yes. But remember, this is your last chance. Life is short.
Did any of these surprise you?

Word of mouth is key today and will become even more relevant in future.
We are drowning in information. And it's not even human information anymore.
A human opinion will become more valuable as it become relatively more scarce.

1 个月More wisdom! I heard myself talking about scepticism vs cynicism to someone the other day and I totally got that from reading something you wrote. I know I often say this but I find your insights so original - there's no generic stuff here. I don't know how you do it haha I hope a book is coming one day!
