10 Ideas for Small Biz during the Crisis
We are all in this together! Everyone is affected on some level. I’m thinking about small businesses in our community and what the short and long term affects will be on them. One of the most stunning pieces of this crisis is that every day things change. While small business owners are trying to protect staff, mitigate risk, and trying to keep in contact with their customers, we are sitting in our homes
Here are some ideas for the backbone of our society, SMALL BIZ
- Be Flexible - everything seems to change daily, keep an open mind
- Be Transparent - tell your staff the truth
- Obsess about Cleanliness - your staff and customers need to know that matters to you and them - they need to know they are safe
- If possible, hold a conference call/zoom meeting once a week to update staff
- Use social media, especially Facebook to communicate with your staff and customers
- If you can, start providing services on-line.
- If you are a restaurant, create a safe curbside offering
- ?Create fun educational videos
? a. Restaurants - cooking videos
b. Hair Salon - caring for your hair videos
c. Chiroprators - how to care for your back
d. Funeral Homes - prepare to online funerals
9. Send a constant contact to your customers telling them your plan
10. Most importantly, start a comeback plan, we don’t know when it will end but I will guarantee you it will, things could open slowly or all at once, plan for both.
My guess is we will all be running to our hairdresser, our chiropractor and our favorite restaurants, make sure you are talking out loud and demonstrating cleanliness, your staff and customers need to have confidence in you and your business. Come back safe and come back strong!
