And, we're LIVE from Orlando RE-imaging Health!

This week I'll be co-hosting the HIMSS digital conference in Orlando. This is a separate program next to the in-person #HIMSS22 conference , brought from a digital studio at the Orlando convention center, with extra produced content, interviews, keynotes, and of course content of the show over here.

How is healthcare transforming into the next normal, (hopefully now) coming out of this pandemic? How can technology help, what is needed from perspectives like data, process, culture?

Together with my co-hosts Rachel Kopczyk , Kate Milliken and Chris Dancy we intertwine the content with other perspectives and bring you excellent content with real pearls in there.

This year’s HIMSS22 Digital event is a 4-day, all-digital event that brings members of the healthcare ecosystem together from all over the world to consider how people, technology and best practices can advance healthcare. There are more than 100 speakers and 30 hours of compelling and?inspirational content, only available on the digital platform.?

I would love to share the content of the conference with you like this panel below: How can transformation lift patients, communities, and outcomes?

For that Casey Ross will moderate. He is the national technology correspondent at STAT news and co-writer of a weekly newsletter on digital health. He is joined by Jodie Lesch [lesh] who has spent 19 years in strategy and transformation roles at Kaiser Permanente, and Dr. John Glazer, an executive-in-residence at Harvard Medical School for executive education. but before that, you might recognize him from his time as Siemens health services CEO or leading population health at Cerner.

The program kicked off today, but it’s not too late to join! As sessions are available on-demand for 45 days post-event. Join HIMSS Digital as my guest using code:?GCD22COMP5

Healthcare Is Slowly Moving Out Of Hospitals & Into Homes

The Covid-19 coronavirus pandemic has reshaped society’s understanding of ideal healthcare delivery. During the height of the pandemic and amidst sweeping social isolation measures, billions of people worldwide stayed inside their homes. For many, this transformed daily life in numerous ways— ranging from the way people shopped, to how they worked and interacted with others. One of the most significant effects of this phenomenon, however, was the newfound approach many took towards healthcare: one which emphasized patient convenience above all else. Here’s a brilliant idea for what to do with all of those empty malls

The Marketplace Mall in Rochester, New York, had lost its main anchors. The plus-sign-shaped structure once had a Macy’s and a Sears—the kind of major retailers that helped draw customers to the mall and feed the smaller stores within. When they left, there were big holes, but few large retailers to fill them; so in came a new kind of tenant: the University of Rochester Medical Center.

Expanding out from its main hospital campus a few miles away, the medical center is adding 350,000 square feet of medical space onto what was not long ago the corner of a shopping center. Click here to read more ...

The conscious consumer – connecting with health and sustainability priorities

The impact of food on our personal health, health of our loved ones, health of our community, and the health of our planet is growing importance. But how do consumers look at these themes, how is it impacting their shopping behaviour, what role do consumer see for regulators and the grocers themselves, and how does this vary across Europe?

"64% of respondents indicate that over the past 12 months they have become more interested in learning more about the influence of food on their health."
Randy Jagt, Future of Food Lead

These are the types of questions that led to Deloitte commissioning a European-wide consumer research program, across 15 countries and 17,000 consumers, to gain first-hand consumer perspectives on how they look at health and sustainability, and how they let these considerations influence their grocery buying behaviours (or not!). Great article Lucien! Your top picks are good options to bank on. When you have a long-term health condition, it can be easy to think about the things you can no longer do, but what about the things you still can? This is a good change. Thanks for sharing.

Options seem to be the answer in this very personal battle to make available affordable healthcare that is easy to use for the aging generations. While still meeting or exceeding the needs of a growing population of 20 30 or 40 somethings needing certain attention as well digital options being the key word. We can not lose the home in healthcare the feeling like no matter where I go i will continue to get the service i need deserve and desire on a regular basis. People first is the key in healthcare what is the best course of actions for the masses not a small niche group inclusion for as many as possible is paramount nationally or globally. ??
