SysAdminDay

We celebrated the annual #SysAdminDay at our headquarters in Regensburg and at our Data Center in Munich ?? at the end of July. We started the day with free massages, relaxation and cupcakes. In the afternoon, we fired up the barbecue and ended the day with an adrenaline-fueled hobby horsing tournament. ??

We took a little trip to Hawaii with our Ohana, aka our amazing team. At least in culinary terms. That leaves just one thing to say about our third Eat & Meet session: ono, simply super delicious. ??

Disney gets a security patent ?? ?? ????

Domain Name Wire reports that Disney has been granted a patent for a domain security assurance automation system by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. This system has two main functions. It helps companies identify their owned domain names using various data sources and it applies security criteria to identify domains vulnerable to attacks, taking into account factors like firewall strength, interactivity and authentication requirements. Disney's patent application for this system was filed in July 2021.

Privacy and proxy services banned for .nl ?? ???? ??

From 1 October 2023, the use of privacy and proxy services for the Dutch domain extension .nl will be prohibited. This change is intended to prevent possible abuse. Providing the correct WHOIS data is essential to ensure that the registry SIDN only grants services and rights to the registered holders. Anyone currently employing such services should expect to hear from SIDN soon, although there is no immediate risk of losing the domains, according to SIDN.

End-to-End Encryption for Meta’s Messenger ?? ?? ??

Meta is moving forward with its plan to introduce end-to-end encryption for one-to-one chats on Messenger by the end of the year. Recently, further millions of users had their chats upgraded as part of this initiative, aligning with CEO Mark Zuckerberg's privacy-focused vision despite previous delays due to technical hurdles, according to The Hacker News.
